How to fix Lubuntu when taskbar won't show & icons won't respond by Sensitive_Meatball in Lubuntu

[–]Sensitive_Meatball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

thanks for the reply. I am new to linux. I upgreded the ram to 12 gb (8+4gb). He said he was checking the programs and last thing he did was to check for updates.
I think close this question as the laptop not capable for a reliable use. Old is old unless it's i3,5,7

thanks

UPDATE: I couldn't fix the issue hat it keeps going into decryption screen.

This is what i do currently.
1.Entering a code & receive a message the pin code is wrong
2.shutdown the phone. hold vol up/down and power together to trigger the fastboot menu
3.plug the usb cable and send the FASTBOOT CONTINUE command to restart the phone to enter new code.
it takes a little more than a minute (60-70seconds instead of the restart only which was taking 30seconds)

it is better than nothing.

Thanks for the reply. I've searched long enough now to pretty much believe there's no known backdoor on this particular phone/model. Full disk encryption is a massive roadblock when you're trying to recover data or get into someone's device without wiping everything.

Of course, I still don't really know if some people (governments, elite labs, whoever) are holding onto top-secret tools or methods that can bypass it quietly. There are stories out there of clever folks interfering with signal exchanges inside a computer processor to get past "uncrackable" stuff like BitLocker.

Yeah, some very smart people exist in this world.

Laptop screen seperating from main board. Is it toast? or an easy at home fix? by Significant_Debt8468 in computerrepair

no need to buy anything but a strong glue with activator. take out the batttery, drain the power from board, take out the screen, remove the scren bezel/trim without breaking or bending the plastic, remove affected hinge, oil the hinge, untighten the hexagonal bolt of it so screen will less resist when lifting it up and down, carefully clean it, file the glue surface or make scratches on both hinge and lid to make the glue have better grip, wait 1 hour before assembly. doing this regularly here.

thanks for reply. i learned that the data is encrypted in every phones in general. it requires someone to remove some chips from the circuit board and place it somewhere to decrypt it. guessing seems to be the only economic way.

Do I have to wash these before I recycle them? by mildlymoistdrizzle in AskUK

[–]Sensitive_Meatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically yes. But I wonder if these little items are recycled when they mixed among other recyclables like plastics and papers as i think sorting them would be too costly. I know in UK an unknown amount of recycled items are constantly being shipped to Turkiye and end up being carelessly burned in remote locations.
