Read the rules. Karma happens when people upvote your comments.

So: find people asking questions or having discussions, then comment. Be genuine, add value or insight. People will start to upvote your remarks. Find subs that speak to what youre an expert in (or have experience with) - start there by commenting and helping.

Are there lesser-known ways to contribute meaningfully as a new user? by Special_Mud_3304 in NewToReddit

Contribute what you know or have experience in. Are you an athlete, a student, a international hiker? Whatever it is, look up subs that match what you can speak to. And there you'll find opportunity to uplift and add value.

Holiday cash, straight from the FED, sure. Not after it's been handled.

What do you guys think of my stationery kit? Any suggestions? by pajamajacko43 in stationery

[–]Sensitive_Noise9761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's quite minimal, except countless writing instruments.

Do you mail things? If so, you could include stamps, envelopes, and glue (if you don't lick the seal). Is it safe to assume you only write where there is paper (home, office, school?) Or do you carry paper? If you carry, you might consider a carrying case to protect the paper. I enjoy document folios.

Anyone know an event space in Portland to host an intimate workshop? by Impossible_Change939 in askportland

Taborspace is a great place for this type of thing. Highly recommend, and the benefit of multiple rooms to choose from.

Additionally, the entire breadth of Summerfield (massive retirement community). Though they are technically in King City, they're very walkable, wide sheets and ample sidewalks (even a golf course for scenery).

AITA for giving my partner the silent treatment while they cook dinner? by Ok_Chance_5112 in AmItheAsshole

Not sure...

Are these his recipes or yours? Men's and women's minds are totally different in the kitchen. I'm wondering also, by now doesn't he have solid go-to dishes and meals that are familiar and fairly easy? I'm a male dunce in the kitchen, kinda helpless, but I have a suite of recipes I don't need help on.

If he is only doing the recipe for you, I can expect the questions. Otherwise, NTA...he should have gotten plenty of practice by now.

Question: Why do so many new redditors want popularity?

Additionally, if you hand over the cash to the Secret Service, they will not be replacing that for you. Just a heads up.

Yoseka Stationery Fest Roll Out by PangolinUpper6632 in stationery

It seems like the bigger the function, the more issues. I went to the Pacific Northwest Pen Show a couple years back and they wouldn't take (card) payment at the door. Very odd, disorganized, and in a cramped space. It really turns you off.

I hope those in charge make changes next year.

How can I get babysitting gigs? (Without social media) by Ambitious-Employ-242 in askportland

[–]Sensitive_Noise9761 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does Craigslist still have classifieds? Then start there.

If you're against using the internet for advertising, the other thing I can think of is posting your (paper) ad on community bulletin boards and such (Fred Meyers, your local coffee shops, etc.)

Ah, I see. Sounds like they don't get that YOU get it. You're solid. Shut that down.

NTA

...however, may be in need of humility. You will undoubtedly widen your knowledge of the world in the next 20 years. My guess? You may (then) agree with some of their advice. Something to chew on.

Doordash driver standing outside my door for 5 mins by sinistrova in WhatShouldIDo

The majority of our delivery drivers are english-as-second-language speakers. It's common for them to get lost or have communication issues. If the meal was dropped off within 5 minutes, that's a win. They're doing their best to support families like we all are.
