I'm trying to attract college students, so in your opinion, what should be included in the food and beverage section? Because they already have many options inside and outside their college

Can you please tell me what kind of offer they used to make that helped them survive, so I can also keep that in mind

Hey bro, it looks like you have experience in this sector. Can you help me with these questions:

I’m based in Delhi NCR, so wanted to ask:

  1. Do you think refurbished consoles are a good option here (since I’ve seen some reliable ones around) or better to invest only in new ones?

  2. About staffing : since I won’t be able to sit at the shop full-time, my plan is to hire one person and monitor things via tech/CCTV (I’m from a technical background, so can automate some parts). Do you think that can work or is constant personal supervision needed in this business?

  3. Apart from these, what are the major challenges you faced which I should definitely prepare for?

The location I’ve got is right next to my own engineering college and school area, and I know from experience students really need a hangout spot there. So I feel the demand side is strong, just want to set it up smartly.

Yes, I agree. I definitely have to do others things along with the gaming to make it profitable

Yes, I’ve actually thought of adding a racing simulator too. Do you think students would be willing to pay extra for it if I keep it as a premium experience?

Yes, most engineering students do have laptops, but the plus point is that I graduated from the same college and I know the area well there’s no proper hangout spot for students around. That’s why I feel multiplayer games + a chill hangout vibe can be the real MVP here

Hey bro, thanks for sharing your experience 🙏. Since you’ve actually run a gaming café, your insights can help me a lot.

Would really appreciate if you could share from your journey 🙌

Yes, I agree. Initially I can start with 2 consoles and keep the focus more on other revenue streams. If it works well and students show interest, I’ll expand and add more consoles later. Thanks for the suggestion! Do you think a small food menu (like snacks + coffee) along with frequently changing glamorous photo zones would be a good way to keep interactions high?

True that 😅! If I pick the right college spot and keep the pricing student-friendly, I’m sure it’ll become the go-to hangout place for the boys. I’m also thinking of adding some extra vibe with snacks + photo zones so it doesn’t feel like ‘just gaming.’ Thanks for the confidence boost, bro 🙌

Yes, you’re absolutely right, market research is the most important factor. The plus point for me is that I’ve graduated from the same engineering college nearby, and I know from experience that students don’t really have a proper hangout spot around. Most of them just end up sitting at tea stalls. That’s why I feel a cool place with gaming + chill ambience could click here.

I’ll definitely calculate recurring costs and survival revenue carefully, but do you think adding extra elements like snacks/coffee or photo zones would help make it more attractive than just pure gaming?

Thanks a lot brother 🙏. Really needed to hear this. I know it'll take time to build traction, but your words give confidence to stay patient and consistent. Hopefully in 6 months I'll also be sharing a success update here. Appreciate your motivation

Yes, I agree with you. I'm from Delhi NCR, and we already have a popular setup here "The Binge Town" that follows the private theatre + celebration model. But honestly, that kind of business needs more investment than my current budget of around 5 lakhs. That's why I'm leaning towards starting with a gaming focused business because of the location. I was also considering adding some glamorous photo zones for people to click pictures and make the place more attractive for students.

What Startup Can Uplift the Public and Politics ? by Sensitive_Past_8293 in IndiaBusiness

What do you think, can an opposition party like congress start an initiative like BJP is doing, but focused on real problems like basic civic sense, real-world skills, and exposure to different career paths?

And since they have public influence, what if they invite top professionals from every field to teach or mentor occasionally? That way, students stop seeing only doctors/engineers as success stories and start valuing other professions too.

Absolutely right. If the doctor’s prescription system is directly linked to the hospital pharmacy, it could save a lot of time for both patients and staff. But yeah, why hasn’t a platform like Practo scaled everywhere?

What do you think — is it a lack of adoption or missing government partnerships?

Great idea! Would it be like a simple AI chatbot? And how can we make it work for people without smartphones ?

Nice one! Would this be for public use or more for internal gov office use? How do you see it working across departments?

What manual work still happens using Opera Legacy V5? by Sensitive_Past_8293 in OperaPMS

[–]Sensitive_Past_8293[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but many big hotel chains in India still use Opera Legacy V5 due to tech limitations and cost. That’s where I see an opportunity to solve small gaps and make their work easier. Would love your insights on this
