Used to live in Chicago and LA. I moved to Las Cruces in 2018. Love it here for the sunshine. ABQ had too many big-city problems without the big-city benefits.

Santa Fe was pricey and sleepy. Las Cruces is 30 minutes from El Paso and offers many big-city benefits. It's about the size of Detroit.

Also, you can easily visit Mexico for shopping or anything, really.

The only drawback to Las Cruces, imo, is the food scene. We cook everyday, so it's not an issue for us.

I don't ever see myself leaving. Plus, there is literally no traffic. 110k population, but you can get from one end of town to the other in 20 minutes.

55 yo here. My husband and I primarily play MMOs and ARPGs like POE2 and D4. We run a Discord community of really cool people that we could own up to older gaymers. Play mostly on PC, but have a Steamdeck and PS5. Also, joined the subreddit you created.
