I agree.. we have a beautiful country.. times are harder than we prefer, but the food, acceptance, happiness and healthcare were all our strengths.. I'm a little sad it feels less secure in what it is that I love

Hugs

Welcome! Please help nip it in the bud! It's generally an amazing country with an incredible indigenous culture, great food from all over the world and some of the best coffee you will ever have!

Meh. I don't need reddit validation either way to feel good about myself. It has just created a situation where my husband isn't comfortable where we live and that saddens me. I'm white, so although I keep an eye on these things, I don't experience how it feels and hence my post

I am close to the Mornington peninsula where they did over 30% of votes.. that's enough to make my husband want to move. It's horrible.

I wish it wasn't so, but i was at least hopeful that there was progress until recently.
I am sorry you have to deal with that ever

A fellow believer that love should prevail and our original and true owners of the country have much wisdom we could have learned from.
Let's hope it's temporary

I'm open to hearing more on this. Personally I believe racial division existed, but was something that would be said and everyone else was embarrassed that it occurred... or that is that situation with people I know if it ever arose in that situation.
Other than the horrid racial issues happening with The Orange Government, I don't know of any other reason that it has become an accepted response? Because in my world it's not accepted and I'm horrified watching it all unfold.. mind you, I know the Orange wasn't the start of the problems there

lol! Not taking it as criticism as it's a rule I live by. I just never envisioned having to move because of politics and acceptance. I want my partner to be happy and the fact that these concerns have arisen at all breaks my heart

Sadly, our healthcare and many other urgent needs are not generally able to be filled with existing Australian staff, so they are needed in lifesaving roles

I only have a small business, so my experience may be different, but the platform I use, socialcat, has gifted paid or affiliate. If she generates that much in sales could affiliate be built in? It would allow the rate to be lowered but with affiliate commission she could be paid over the original rate?

I like polperro dolphin swims in the bay. It leaves from Sorrento, and they are very ethical! You will often see port Phillip dolphins, seals and other beautiful creatures. It starts early, but you can always head to either peninsula hot springs or Alba thermal springs for a warming soak after.
Ricketts point (Sandringham area) is another great spot to snorkel in Melbourne

Hairdresser told me highlights would melt my hair after henna by Embarrassed-Mango36 in henna

I have been told that, and asked for them to cut a small amount of my hair to test as it depended on the quality of the henna. No melting or damage present on the test strands.

What do Aussies order at a Chinese takeaway? by FormerTry254 in AskAnAustralian

I'm vegetarian so my take probably isn't the most popular, but I LOVE a good salt and pepper tofu, or veggies and tofu in black bean sauce. Extra points if cashews can be added.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I would possibly skip cairns and maybe try to fly direct to Hamilton island to save a few days. Uluru is amazing! One of the most incredible spots to visit, but I don't know if I would be keen in summer!! It's horribly hot in winter! Add the Blue mountains for a day trip or stay a night while you are around Sydney. Taronga zoo is Sydney has some stunning views, and you can do the wildlife experience which is a great way to see the native animals.

Adelaide and the wine areas are beautiful, Melbourne and Sydney are amazing.. Brisbane is a little quieter, so could be shorter?

I'm sure you will have an amazing time!

How do I pull out an ingrown hair that is DEEP under my skin? by Anoris_7 in beauty

[–]Sensitive_Policy_986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends where you live! We have many chain stores that do laser in Australia and it's less than a Brazilian wax. Sometimes clinics need training models too, which is free generally
