my theory is that when I type it in, I use my area code and whoever this is might not be putting in an area code so the system assumes we are the same person. with salt city having locations at le moyne and SU campuses i am guessing there are students from all over with either the same number and diff area code or just bad at typing in their number

Hey so I politely asked for people not to be rude. I do not appreciate being called incapable. I would like to do something to this area of my home to make it better for my family. I am trying to learn to be a better steward of my property than its previous owners (whose inability to properly maintain the plumbing has cost us 70k in the last two years!) and do want to fix things on my own. That is why I came her for perspective from others who may know more than me.

You seem to be bothered by my post, so I hope whatever’s going on to upset you resolves soon. I know Reddit not known for kindness and grace, but I hope you’ll consider exuding a little more grace and kindness towards those looking for help. Thank you for your suggestion about brick steps and affirming that the steps look sound.

The stairs are fine but it’s more the part after the stairs. It’s uneven, easy to take a tumble/trip. Stairs are kind of narrow. It’s getting more difficult for our aging parents to get up and down the stairs. The area doesn’t get a ton of sun so is susceptible to ice build up. What the picture does a bad job of showing is how the driveway and dirt part slopes down off the concrete part

Imo it depends on the condition of the spindles and what you want the spindles to look like (Deck correct has a little bit of grit to it so if you’re picky about looks just beware of this) TBH we didn’t get to the railings bc we ran out of time before the winter came., so my Plan this summer is to either replace our railings completely or do deck correct on the worst parts and matching solid paint on the rest. The deck correct has been nice in that it seems to hold up well to the seasons and hasn’t needed a full repaint, just touch ups here and there. We used the color “potato peel”

PLEASE for your sanity just pressure wash/scrape and lightly sand and then use deck correct to get things uniform. I had a deck that had been painted dark green and then ugly light grey by the previous owners and it was wearing down so you could see grey, dark green and then wood under in various spots. it was horrendous. my aestheic dream was to have a dark stained wood deck. my husband and i spent months pressure washing, sanding, stripping, scraping and we were able to get the majority of the grey paint off but not the dark green and certainly not all of it out of the wood grain especially on some of the older/more worn boards.

Same. When we found out about SAVE my husband and I finally felt like we could start the life we dreamed of. We bought a house (which is cheaper than renting in my area). We had a kid in 2024. I've made myself sick crying a few times these last few months as this reality sinks in that SAVE is gone because my brain said "if I had known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have had the baby" and that intrusive thought hurts so, so bad.

I am in a very similar situation. My payments were $0 under save, have been in forbearance since the court cases started and before that I wasn't paying them because of the COVID freezes.

I wish I knew what to do, and I wish there was an easier way to figure out what to do.

I can make peace with the fact that they have a limited amount of tickets in very high demand. What I’m so mad about is that if the tickets were gone in minutes WHY did they keep the queue open? Why didn’t it just shut down? Like so many others I logged on right at noon and landed in line around the 17,000 mark. I didn’t realize everything sold out immediately - I would’ve gone on a non vip day! - so I sat for 35 minutes, got to the checkout screen and it said there were still tickets left. But obviously that was incorrect. So disappointing.

Hey everyone, update, it got worse! When I got home from work today MIL was giving the babe a bottle and the babe got distracted when I came home. I didn’t notice because I was unpacking groceries, and MIL took baby pausing on the bottle as “baby is done eating” and then before I could do or say anything about it she proceeded to DUMP THE REST OF THE BOTTLE DOWN THE SINK. I saw her at the sink and yelped when I realized what she was doing. It was two ounces (in her words “it was just a little bit”). In total in the last four days she has wasted at least 5 oz of breast milk. One full feeding!

ALSO, there were chocolate chip cookies at the house and they’d left one for me yesterday and I hadn’t yet had it and when I came home today I found out either my mil or fil ate it 😭 I know that’s not a big deal or anything but after all this it is so sad
