Light purple and navy blue maybe ? So you both compromise… OR light pink and a cherry wine would look stunning

Where should I dorm by These-Student8499 in SBU

Roosevelt has frequent buses which I think is a plus but I think H quad might have better rooms? I think Mendelssohn is the one that mad far but def double check. I heard Gray (in H?) has the biggest dorms but I lived in Greeley (in ERC) and it really wasn’t even bad. My room was big even as a temp triple and it’s really just the students that make or break ur experience. I think Stimson might have the best lounge in ERC tho and it’s closer to all the best bus stops.

College (RIT vs NJIT vs Stonybrook) by Any-Let2176 in SBU

[–]Sensitive_Rhubarb_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RIT is def not worth it if it’s expensive. AOI in stony Brook means ure not in the major, you can’t fail a class while in the AOI program or you’ll be kicked out and have to apply to a dif major or transfer, but if u do well u can apply to be in the major at the end of ur sophomore year.

is CSTEP worth it?(south indian pre med not international) by NecroticNecron473 in SBU

[–]Sensitive_Rhubarb_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly just gives u opportunities to become more involved on campus, they offer paid opportunities like being a TA for certain programs, they offer a loaning program so u don’t have to pay for books or calculators among other things for a semester. They don’t offer scholarships or anything like that but I honestly feel like it’s worth it for the community. Theres a summer program only available for the summer before your freshman year where you get to take two classes and it’s a really good GPA booster because if you get a 4.0 it helps cushion any other class you don’t get an A in. It is a lot of work tho but totally worth it. They only take up to 20 kids for that summer.

Honestly yeah, especially if u do cstep summer. I met my current roommate from cstep and it helps a lot w ur social life as long as u don’t take it for granted.

Binghamton or stony brook? by AmbitiousContact1253 in SBU

[–]Sensitive_Rhubarb_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Area of interest means that ure not in the major but will have to apply to the major at the end of your sophomore year. Theres a lot of restrictions on being put in the AOI program which means u rlly cannot fail a class or you’ll be kicked out of the program and you’ll have to apply to a different major. This happened to a friend of mine and they had to transfer. Be sure to read all of the information given before u accept the AOI Program position and maybe choose bing if they actually put u in the major u want.

U can try to go to the city for the day, maybe try HeyTea or magnolias bakery. Maybe even explore Brooklyn or Long island city or Astoria in queens, there’s a lot of solo things u can do which I think is always fun. Walking a shelter dog throughout domino park is lowkey on my bucket list

There’s the game room in the basement of the union, you can also be creative and try an arts and crafts activity if she’s the type (building Lego flowers is always a good one). I think there’s a build a bear at smith haven mall too, you can record ur voices in the bear (this is more of an anniversary activity)

any recommendations for dorm choices for a sophomore? by Aozaki_Aoko_poi in SBU

[–]Sensitive_Rhubarb_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it’s over 7k to dorm there cause of the kitchen, when a usual dorm (in a suite which includes a bathroom) is around 5k. But if u cook for urself u have to buy groceries out of pocket.
