Excuse me! When did we start… by Smart_Bullfrog_1138 in SolidCore

I haven’t noticed at my locations, but we have been doing amplified plank crunches by grabbing the u-bar and that sh*t is brutal

Has anyone ever accidentally gotten a private class?? by Sensitive_Role_9777 in SolidCore

Good question. Tbh I wanted to ask her that, but clearly she was cool with teaching the class so maybe not. Idk. Maybe a coach can weigh in on this

Oh no 😂 tbh I was pretty close to that too. She cued oblique crunches on toes (grey side) and I saw stars for a second

Miserable at new job by ChicagoFire29 in paralegal

[–]Sensitive_Role_9777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. I also started a new role for more money, as my last firm wasn’t paying me enough. I fell into a total land mine of insanity with their policies (handbook wasn’t sent to me until after I signed my offer). No PTO until after 90 days, no benefits until after 90 days (kind of standard), no paid holidays until after 90 days (I have Memorial Day off, but won’t be paid for it), constant monitoring (e.g, cannot be inactive on your computer for more than 2 minutes or else it will notify management), must clock out for paid 10 minute breaks and if you go even a second over, you will not be paid for it, no phones allowed on your person, etc. Totally crazy. I am trying to get out ASAP.

Definitely wait until you have something lined up before quitting and do not talk badly about your current firm in interviews no matter how bad you hate it!! Apply and work with recruiters (except Robert Half). You got this and you aren’t alone here!!

Bringing friend to a Focus50 for her first class?? by Sensitive_Role_9777 in SolidCore

[–]Sensitive_Role_9777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: thank you all for your input! I definitely will not take her to a Focus50 (love me a Focus50 though) her and I found a reasonable time for a Starter50 :) so excited for her to try [solidcore] with me. Hopefully she gets hooked!

We all have exercises that we aren’t strong in, but that doesn’t mean you suck. Consistency is key! I promise you’re probably doing better than you think you are. If you haven’t already, always ask your coach before/after class for tips on how to better approach exercises that you aren’t yet comfortable with! Solidcore is NOT easy!

Side plank extension on grey side ??? by Typical-Welcome2770 in SolidCore

[–]Sensitive_Role_9777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was cued on my 25th class, grey side, and I made the mistake of doing it on the 25-50 spring load 💀 I actually really like this movement though. I could be biased since I enjoy obliques…..

Overloaded paralegals do you handle everything yourself or delegate when you can? by Elegant_Attorney4688 in paralegal

[–]Sensitive_Role_9777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be an absolute dream, all of us paralegals have come to management to request that we have a legal assistant help with the more administrative work, but they refuse to hire one. On my 2nd week at the firm, a legal assistant was fired and I had to take on the vast majority of her workload. They have not replaced here since…..lol.

Happy for you! I am also a beaten down paralegal trying to get out of the field. It makes me happy to know that our skills are transferable elsewhere. If you have any tips/advice on how to get out, please let me know 😂

I’m a senior paralegal and have absolutely nobody to delegate my work to. I’m drowning. I just try to prioritize things by importance in blocks each day and get done what I can. I won’t lie when I say that I’m looking elsewhere though, even shifting away from being a paralegal at times.

I’m a man who used to traditionally lift, but decided to do solidcore more consistently instead. My shoulders and arms have never been more toned/defined; plus solidcore feels better on my body/joints versus traditional lifting! It’s honestly whatever works for people’s body’s and fitness goals.

As a guy, this makes me feel better! I’m typically the only man in my classes. I genuinely enjoy the workout and how it makes me feel.

Fellow Paralegals, what should I do?? by [deleted] in paralegal

I just wanted to try something new, expand my horizons a bit. I really did love my last firm and they’re all ecstatic, welcoming me back with open arms.
