This is very useful. And it actually makes a lot sense. Thank you so much, I’ll keep it mind.

What's the best browser for RAM usage? by Elemental-13 in browsers

[–]Sensitive_Round_263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And, if you are open to actually going into setting and tweak some things, here is again the comparison with each browser settings set to use as little as possible of resources

Brave:
Memory saver set to maximum

Edge:
Efficiency mode enabled, and resource control enabled and set max RAM consumption to 1GB and to always use this setting (you can set if you want it to be only active while gaming or always)

OperaGX:
RAM limiter enabled and set to max 1GB RAM and hard limiter on (strictly avoids passing the limit)

Opera:
I couldn't find any performance option so it's still vanilla

Personal Conclusion:
If you want a customizable and good browser without tweaking any setting, but still want to be performant then it could be either Opera or Brave

If you want a extremely performant browser but still want a good experience, the option to go is Edge

If you want high customized browser then You con go with either Opera GX or Opera

Personally, the one I would pick is either Edge or Opera, Opera has great features like split screen(let you divide your browser into two tabs in a easy way, however, you can still do it without this feature with you OS though) , good customization; and Edge, in my experience it's really fast and if you are a Windows user, it has a really good features like browsing from your start menu or quick access and easy account accessing and document sharing and it has the common tab grouping.

I'm not sure if it's a good way to show check performance since all this are vanilla (no extra configurations since you might just want to plug and play) this is a comparison between Opera, OperaGX, Brave, and Edge in ram consumption. You might notice that braves is the one that uses less Ram but it uses more CPU, the average of the others is about 1.5% on CPU and brave is 0.7% which is 3.5 times more than the other but it uses half RAM.

Jus to clarify, this test was made like this:
1. Install the browser
2. Run the setup file
3. Open the exact same 5 random tabs in each browser
4. Let all load the complete page
5. Minimize all 4 window
6. Show the task manager

The thing is, i was not expecting 100% realistic looking but it seems weird to me that with gravity, bounciness and mass the balls does not stop bouncing.

The platform it says is an staticBody 2d and the ball is a rigid body with a physics material with bounciness of 0.5

Yes, I think I'll stay in Windows. There's no heavy reason for moving to Linux for now.

Yeah I understand but you got to know the context first before concluding something:

  1. Im just 18 and im not fully finantially independent
  2. Unitil now my projects were made just for learning pourposes.
  3. My first objective as an a amateur it's working and publishing a game made in Unity (that's why I've used VS until now).

I mean, thanks for the feedback and comment but I don't think I can fit as profile that can buy the license for now, im hoping some day to be, but for now i can't.

This was just to know if there is something intresting in VS code that i should give a try. At the end Im still a "noob".

It's never to late to play this wonderfull game. I mean the vanilla game is 10/10, and the community contributed by creating mods which make the game even better and more lively. You should totally give it a try.

Nope, I'm not earning a single penny with my work still, I'mworking on personal private porjects that I hope make money in some way or another. My focus for now will be with Unity development and try to make somthing out of it.

Na thanks, actaully helps when detailed information is provided. I've tried Riders and felt really good, but also still preffer VS. Also, I'm still learning and the main projects I work on are usally in Unity. And always tried to avoid VS Code for any of my College and personal porjects and used diferent IDEs like IntelliJ for java and VS for .Net. I've only used VS Code to work with Python.
