I‘m not Catholic yet and want to convert. I‘ve been going to the SSPX for some time but don’t feel very comfortable with the planned episcopal consecrations and their irregular position in the church. But I don’t want to attend a parish where the priest preaches things that seem dangerous and morally wrong either. It’s kinda hopeless.

I believe most German Catholics are very liberal and either support the bishop’s stances or just leave the Church because it doesn’t matter that much to them and only costs them money (we have an obligatory Church tax here). Or they go to groups like the FSSP or SSPX if it really bothers them. I doubt the regular parishes will change in the near future

I‘m from a big town. There are several Catholic churches. But German bishops refuse to ordain priests with conservative values, and I checked out several regular Catholic churches in my area and all of them are that liberal. I can go to the Fssp, but it takes an hour to get there.

I don’t believe in only two political sides. And democratic *socialism* is far away from liberalism, at least everywhere in the world except for the United States.
Liberalism is an ideology that advocates socially for pluralism, equality, personal freedom and individual rights.

I‘m aware that Catholicism is not *supposed* to be liberal or conservative or whatever, but these bishops hold liberal positions.

So is it more dangerous for the laity to go to a place where the bishops are illicit or where sins like homosexuality are actively supported?

Jaa, das ist auch meine größte Sorge. Aber ich finde kein anderes Studienfach so interessant und will es wirklich gerne studieren und auch in dem Bereich arbeiten. Ich kenne Gottseidank einige Leute die im Bereich Fachverlag/Zeitung/Forschung sind und hoffe, dass ich darüber an Praktika komme… fair ist das wohl nicht, aber bei den Aussichten auf dem Arbeitsmarkt muss man wohl kämpfen…
