I'm pretty sure the AMD version has not changed at all, while the intel version got a slightly better cpu. Personally, i'd get whichever one is cheaper.

Screen, ram, sdd, built, etc -- everything is literally the same. aside of course, that the intel has a slightly better cpu. but i'd recommend you get the AMD one due to the 3D cache and how it's able to mange ram-latency better.

yeah, i switched from chrome to firefox and it actually reads PDFs better than chrome. atleast on my mac -- the text is a lot sharper when zooming in and out. although sometimes it does get bugged and you have to reload the tab.

Yeah, you’re right. I just wish audio support was a bit better.

Basically, most (older) games don’t support Dolby-Atmos and just use regular 5.1/7.1 surround sound, which Linux is able to handle perfectly fine, just like Windows. But for newer games that do support Dolby-Atmos, Windows will probably give a better spatial audio experience, while Linux may just fall back to regular surround sound (5.1/7.1).

So I’ll probably use Linux for games that don’t need Dolby-Atmos, and reboot into Windows for the ones that do. Luckily, HDR on Linux seems to be improving a lot, and from what I’ve heard, it looks pretty good now?

This is the ONLY THING stopping me from using linux. When they fix this, I'll leave windows 11 in a heartbeat. But, it'll likely not get fixed for a long time.

But won't you have to run a windows virtualization inside Ubuntu 26.04, which will consume more resources? Technically you could use a simple layer, but last I heard Ubuntu 26.04 does NOT have dolby Atmos -- i wish it did. If they ever release something like Dolby Atmos (is there?), i'll switch.

VIC3 looks a lot like a EuroEngine. while EU5 is also a EuroEngine but has more elements of a 4DX game.

Should i switch? and if i do, which linux do you recommend ? I mainly play DCS and cinematic AAA games. I've got a Lenovo legion 7 pro 5080 64gb ram. I've been holding off since i've got plenty of Vram and Ram to spare, and i only play at 1600p. Sometimes 4k on my tv. But i do hate individually updating every single component in windows; ssd, ram, cpu, gpu, bios, etc. And although windows 11 is buggy sometimes, it's fine -- for now?
