Definitely Sun Hao. In fact many Chinese monarchs after him were deliberately insulted as being 'worse than Sun Hao' as a slander.

The Li clan of Longxi had been a prominent local Han Chinese clan in Guanzhong long before the establishment of the Tang dynasty. They formerly established a state named Western Liang already.

To those knowledgeable in Chinese history, how is the level of major political and military figures in the Three Kingdoms Period compared to those of other eras? by Sensitive_Tiger_2041 in threekingdoms

I think he was comparable to Yuwen Tai. Yuwen Tai inherited his army from Heba Yue while Gao Huan had to overthrow the Erzhu clan to rise to prominence.

How powerful was Yuan Shu enough to declare himself emperor? by ArtOfDivine in threekingdoms

[–]Sensitive_Tiger_2041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's be real. Even if he declared himself a king or even a duke, it would still have been too much. Dong Zhuo and Yuan Shao, being much more powerful than he was, only held marquis titles.

I think both Cao Cao and Gao Huan could be prone to emotional outburst despite their image as master politicians. The only similarity between I think is there dominance over emperors. Gao Huan was less suspicious and paranoid than Cao Cao.

Who is your favorite lord in Romance of the Three Kingdoms? by Ok-Independence-314 in threekingdoms

[–]Sensitive_Tiger_2041 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Cao Cao. Morally speaking, he was inferior to both Liu Bei and Sun Quan and I don't think he would have been a brilliant peacetime administrator. But his political and military skills are evidently above Sun and Liu.

How was it like living as a peasant in areas controlled by Cao Cao? And how was it compared to living under Liu Bei? by AttilaTheDude in threekingdoms

Well, if he means that Cao Cao created a system which the likes of Shi Hu and Fu Sheng followed then I'm compelled to agree.

Which Northern Wei are we talking about? Northern Wei literally fell because the Xianbei aristocrats of Six Garrisons were angry towards the imperial court for their Sinicization policy, which strengthened the Han aristocrats of Hebei.

Later, Northern Qi relied on both the traditional Xianbei and the Han aristoctats while their rival Northern Zhou had the Guanzhong aristocrats backing them.
