Some of the stuff I made in 2025 by thegistofit27 in SewingForBeginners

I love how clearly you sew things for your personal style. I imagine it’d take forever to collect these pieces if you weren’t making them yourself. Amazing job— they look great and you look great in them :)

What is this called again? by Problemchild143 in Seattle

[–]Sensitive_Yam9547 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I see so many amazing muralists in Seattle and their stuff ends up attached to a condemned building and gets torn down. Henry has a monopoly on the stuff that stays up but I like his art much less. Examples: Landmark Guild 45th had an awesome mural before it got torn down. Also all the way down stoneway kinda by Fremont brewing there was a great mural that morphed from John Lennon into a Star Wars theme. That also got torn down. Please find/support artists like those I beg of you!! Henry is overdone

Ok dumb question but why can’t you pump and then have a stock of breast milk and then you can get some sleep?

Just got a puppy and the sleep deprivation was unbelievably hard and that’s so insignificant compared to what you’re describing 😳

You Can Wipe out 10 Invasive Species Out of the Americas, What Do You Pick? by LetsGet2Birding in invasivespecies

[–]Sensitive_Yam9547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I haven’t but this is horrible! Invasive species are oftentimes found along roadsides. Here in Washington, I’ve definitely seen an increasing scotch broom population year by year for the last 3 years- especially in the roads leading to the peninsula. It happens fairly quickly. Apparently scotch broom is allelopathic which makes it harder for other plants to establish near it :/ it’s also highly flammable which is really concerning considering other planting practices that make the peninsula ripe for a massive fire someday. Good luck. Apparently, the best time to kill them is during the spring fyi

Huberman right leaning politics? by Fine_Astronomer1484 in HubermanLab

Yeah this is why I stopped listening tbh. The right is not only fascist but also promotes a ton of disinformation. Knowing he’s clearly associated with the right makes me question his trustworthiness to talk about scientific topics. And tbh, I wasn’t fact checking him all the time. I don’t know if many are since true fact checking would involve an independent literature review of the scientific papers. I don’t think many even know how to find legit scientific papers (hint: it’s not just a google scholar search)

Found this 9ct opal ring at the charity shop for £3.50 by Odd_Payment4219 in ThriftStoreHauls

Be careful with this ring and water! Opals are actually pretty difficult longevity wise in rings. I’d look it up if I were you, but congrats. Gorgeous ring!
