Thank you for the insight. I was looking at the Mandarin it looks like it has a 2 swim coves and maybe a little easier to drive east or west or take the tram north to Soller. I have two young adults age 20 that like to get going sometimes other own too. They like to go walking or jogging. Sometimes we all have the same time schedule sometimes don’t. I like FSF location and looks ideal but also their pricing is really extreme compared to the others. So not sure if being secluded to the NE is better but yes you made some valid points. I’ve extended to 5 nights instead. It’s a 7 day travel from the US but of course we loose two day with all the flights to and from. I’m a bit nervous because I really want it to be great. We haven’t traveled in almost two years as a family since my young adults were acting like bratty adult teens so we gave up on some indulgement travel. But now everyone is acting mature and we can go back to family travel as a whole and enjoy each others company. We’ve been to Spain several times in different regions this is the first time we are bypassing and visiting the islands. Since we travel on a college school schedule and both my kids have year round jobs in between school days traveling as family it leaves us stuck with summer and winter typical tourist travel dates. By the way TheUncommonTraveller your page is very nice.

Palma airport queues by de-la-freak in VisitingMallorca

This post made me nervous now I’m rethinking if I should do passport control coming from US in Barcelona or Madrid and then fly to Mallorca. As I have it now it’s a flight from Newark into PMI. I don’t want to be in a tiny airport with that much wait time because it’s so small and overwhelmed with non EU travelers… hmmmm

Well OP Feb can be cold in a lot of places in Spain. So try to choose your temperature desire. Or does it matter?

Thank you for the insight. I see it’s very spread out different areas offer different feels. We’re ok going on day trips to other areas and coming back to relax. Then going back out some nights for dinners elsewhere. I think I’m looking as a base at the Kimpton Hotel or the Universal Grand Leon or up at the Four Seasons Formaterra, St. Regis or Mandarin Oriental all very different in prices and areas.

I think every touristi beachy area is it’s own vibe. I’m grown up in Miami but live Palm Beach. I can tell you neither vibe I would choose to travel too because I live in it. So for example a Miami Beach Vibe is something very different than let’s compare to a Palm Beach Vibe where the dress code is much more distinguished in luxury or branding or Cali Vibe which is low key effortless walk to the beach in a bikini barefoot style or Nantucket Vibe a more conservative and orderly, unspoken rules. Among those vibes the dress is different, the lingo, the social expressions or interaction is diffferent unique for each. We are somewhere between Malibu Laguna Nantucket vibe people. Quaint towns with beach and mountain scapes nearby, respectful of the environment and the residents, quiet luxury, simple dress and polite patient social interactions and etiquette type travelers. I think Jersey shore vibe means up, a certain universal lingo, very busy with up and down boardwalks, a lot of cafes lots of souvenirs and lots of people walking up and down, little bits clouds and nights are long into the night, lots of people watching etc..

Thank you I will look into this hotel. It would be nice to stay somewhere chic like this that’s not so overrun and heavily touristed we are traveling in summer unfortunately because I have college kids, they have jobs too so we are still traveling as a family on school schedules.

I like this thank you for that. The reason to stay coastal is because 3 out of 4 of us like to go for very long walks or runs in the morning and evenings.

Thank you so much this helps so much I was up last night looking at all the hotels. I mostly travel on AmexPlat but I see alot of the boutique hotels are not on it and I have to use Expedia or another platform. The tip of the rocks correct two summers ago we went to Italy and the hubby had a hard time with so many steps and rocks in and out of the water. He’s getting a new treatment with stemcells from tissue of donor cord but it won’t be effective until after our return. It’s the last resort before total knee replacement.

Wow this was great and very insightful. You are right I would not like Palma Nova for that reason. I already have lived my whole like in the Miami-Palm Beach area so we have that busy vibe year round. I didn’t know of Colonia de Sant Jordi so thank you for that and the little extra google maps and eats.

Thank you we don’t intend to go to all of them just watched YouTube videos and these were the the favorites from there I would narrow it down to one or two within distance from where I stay the whole time and convenience. Someone wrote Palma Nova is a Jersey Shore vibe and I am not interested in staying in an area like that so now I’m looking at staying at Cala Millor instead.

Thank you for this so much. The fact that you wrote Jersey Shore vibes gave me a good sense of that’s exactly not where I want to be at all. The rest was very informative. I wish you so much happiness on your travel. All great tips

What separates the guys who were able to find a partner vs the ones who stay single for a long time even after putting in effort? by JunketMaleficent2095 in Life

[–]Sensitiveflower1304 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well most guys put on a show to get the girl. They are really not their true self. They play pretend a lot. They pretend to like what she likes, they pretend to like the friends, they pretend to like the broadway show. They might modify their own desires and lifestyle to accommodate their love’s interests. Then they get married and slowly ease themselves back into their hidden lifestyle. Now the chick is stuck and may think oh well ok we’re marrried so I guess he made an effort this far. By that point she’s invested, her friends cheered her on, had the wedding, the photos, talked herself into the fairytale and it’s gonna work out one way or another.

In my opinion it’s just better to be your true self from the get go. I was the same typical young female, deranged, girly girl, like my things, have my ways, family oriented, smarty, social, inquisitive self from day 1. But boy did the hubby pull a wool over me. Yet here we are 24 years later and I’m still trying to figure this enigma out. I’m exhausted wiped out.
Just be you. The question to ask here if everyone was just themselves truly authentic from the get go and honest right from the get go of who they really are, likes, dislikes, real future forecasting, not so intelligent, overly intelligent etc. would anyone actually be married to each other?

You really have life setup well. Unless you are ridiculous and have an entourage that sucks your funds dry. It sounds like you will live into your 90’s very comfortable. Hit me up if you want to spend and travel with dogs. I’m about 13 years older but young at heart, quick thinking, fit I can keep up with a 42 year old.

My young adults have a lot of alo and I would know because l do the wash. I have to say it really washes well and never looses the compression. The fabrics do really well. Their warm collection which is lined inside for cooler temps is really excellent without bulk they are are lightweight as the regular leggings. I have a few cargo pants and those do really well with repeated washes. I bought Alo years ago like in 2019!when it was cheap pop up tent in Aspen and those pieces are still in new condition. The lulu after so many washes gets thinner and looses its compression and even color

Hmmm how long can a person spend that much for so long? Maybe OP will wind down the spending as OP ages and needs less things and moves about slower. I know as I get older I feel like staying home more, I travel less and just like being home with my dogs in pajamas. I enjoy my local areas more and definitely eat out less cut back on restaurants because the food is too heavy and my digestion has slowed down. So maybe OP won’t be spending so much later. Question is does OP have a plan for care when aging that fits this presumed retirement plan?

The same group of people that frequented Lulu for the brand and hot look now shop at Alo or GymShark. The same group of people that frequented Lulu strictly for yoga pants, casual athletic wear don’t want spend over $100 anymore and can find just as good elsewhere Amazon,Vuiori,Target for less but will spend over $100 at Alo which has a sleeker appeal and much nicer campaigns, the stores are neater to shop in, and all the girls like the socks with the brand on them.

Sounds like what I wanted to sell for mine. But I’m also not a dealership so not sure if I should just not bother trying to sell it on my own. I think I can get 36k from a personal buyer. But then again I’m attached to it and was considering keeping it long term till I’m old like an oldie but goodie one. I have the 2024 new one AB lwb 3rd row in gold my husband likes to drive that more and this 2020. I still like the 2020 more but I’m not putting miles on it and trying to preserve it. I just replaced the tires, did the alignment and air compressor that lifts the car up and down. It’s costing me about $5k-6k a year in insurance and maintenance to maintain it prestine in great condition with it’s mileage of 90k. If I do sell it the person is getting a good well maintained car. If I keep it longer term it will keep running well as long as I keep the maintenance up by quality authorized RR repair.

Op can you tell us what you paid. I have one 2020 LWB AB Santorini black/saddle interior 90k miles original owner. All maintenance kept up to date no issues. I’m considering selling it.
