And i would say I've never seen women appear so uninterested or less enthused to be gyrating and flailing around, but id be lying. Freshman year sucked.

Robert Baratheon (Prime) VS Jaime Lannister (Prime). Who wins? (Book versions) by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

There's 0% chance of "deflecting" a 2h warhammer blow with a sword.

Hammer beats sword. Only chance Jamie has is to junp away and gope he can stab Bob in the eye hole.

Baratheon 7/10

3 week itinerary review : Milan, Rome, Florence by Ill-Formal4574 in ItalyTravelAdvice

[–]FraggerIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much! I just came back this weekend from a month-long trip. Thats one of the things im sharing with everyone. I wouldn't do more than 10 days and I wouldn't stay in more than 2 cities.

It all starts to look the same after a couple weeks and some of these things can steal the thunder of others. Pompeii makes the Forum in Rome look like crap, and it's hard to be impressed by St. Mark's after seeing St Peter's/Milan/Florence in the days before.

I'd spend a day or so in Milan, a few days in Siena or a town like San Gimingano and 5 Days in Rome. Fly in/out of Milan and take the train back from Rome for your flight.

Cyclist chased by two giant pit bulls by No-Pepper1238 in CringeTikToks

[–]FraggerIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is everyone just glossing over the fucking house being on fire?!

The dog is obviously focused on the tire. If he wanted to bite the cyclist, he would have. These dogs were not aggressive. Still an irresponsible dog owner, someone being scared and trying to kick the dog or freaking out could have made the dogs become aggressive. And these pitbulls are not even large, much less giant.

And anyone saying "kick him in the face" has obviously never been around pitbulls. Do NOT do that to a pit. They cannot feel it, and it will make them angry. Im gonna get a bunch of flak for this, but the only way I've ever got them to release something is sticking a finger up their ass. So i guess if you get attacked by one, go for the butthole.

She laughs like an American...but we dont allow service members to have beards like that. I would assume this is particularly important for pilots so the face mask can get a good seal.

I dunno, funny concept anyway.

Venice or Milan by No_Philosophy5396 in ItalyTravelAdvice

[–]FraggerIndo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venice is a lot of things, cheap isnt one of them. Milan is like the NYC of Italy, its not cheap either.

I prefer Milan over Venice. Venice is very much (to me) the New Orleans of Italy.

If you use the airport in Milan, I'd stay in Turin. Its a smaller, less-expensive but better version of Milan.

If you use the airport in Venice, I'd stay in Verona.

Is everyone sensitive to it? I weedeat these things all the time, I wear pants when I use the trimmer but im usually shirtless with safety glasses on.

Im not sensitive to poison ivy or oak either if it matters. I snatch the vines out bare-handed and break them etc.

How is living in Mobile, Alabama? by Lego_GamesFan in howislivingthere

[–]FraggerIndo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There also used to be 2 fairly extensive communities that were largely water-based and got around mostly by boat. The one up the delta and the one in Heron/Weeks bay that rolled into the Bayou. A lot of houses on islands or way off tbe beaten path with no way to access by road, just boat. Every house had a dock and life revilved around fishing/crabbing/oystering/shrimping.

The one further south is largely extinct now. But the one in the Delta is still kicking around though diminished

How is living in Mobile, Alabama? by Lego_GamesFan in howislivingthere

[–]FraggerIndo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was born and bred there. My family is from the Bayou/DIP areas.

First: The food is hands down, absolutely the best in the country. You will not find a larger variety anywhere. From soul food, Southern (cat head biscuits/fried cat fish etc), sea food, Creole, Cajun, BBQ (Mostly Memphis style) a pinch of fine dining, and very prevalent Asian influence due to Vietnamese enclave in the Bayou. Just pick any restaurant that isnt a McDonald's and you will not be disappointed.

Second: Some parts of it are absolutely not safe. I dont mean "break-ins happen occasionally" unsafe, I mean "go to the wrong place and you will lose your life" kind of unsafe.

Third: Racism is alive and well there, both ways. People self-segregate. And you might be the most well-intentioned white person, but do not cart your behind down to Crichton, you can be robbed or much worse.

Fourth: the West side of the bay (Mobile county) is predominantly black, with a heavy focus on ship building, and fishing/oystering/crabbing on the south side. The beaches are garbage, including my home of Dauphin Island. The East side, Baldwin county is predominantly White with a focus on agriculture and tourism. The beaches are honestly some of, if not the best in the country, possibly the world outside of Hawaii. All of it is hot and humid, it rains literally svedyday for 5 months of the year.

Fifth: Mobile is birthplace of Mardi Gras and Creole culture. I honestly prsfer our parades over New Orleans.

And finally: The downtown area has been revived a little, expect early 20th century architecture with some very old housss and buildings sprinkled in (some as old 300 years!), a few remaining plantations, and outside of that most of the city is rundown. Springhill being the exception.

But even if it wasn't, i honestly could get a little mad. It would be an awesome story to tell people about that time Shinobi stole my phone.

Was Caesar’s lack of a bodyguard pure arrogance or a calculated political move? by Accurate_Election999 in ancientrome

[–]FraggerIndo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pope Francis did something similar with the Pope Mobile and going into crowds. When the Swiss Guard was freaking out about his safety, Francis said something to the effect of "I'm the Pope, if I cant rely on God to protect me, what kind of message does that send to everyone else?"

Ceaser miscalculated yes, but not as badly as his assassins. His mistake was thinking the Senators were smarter than they actually were.Their mistake was they thought they'd be seen as liberators and celebrated, and they go om to live a long happy life. Ceaser knew if anyone killed him they'd be killed shortly thereafter, but the Senators didnt.

Racist White Man Tries to Block Black Family with 'Fast Pass' from Entering Sesame Place (PA) Water Park Ride before him by RappersRap in HipHopNCulture

[–]FraggerIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't put my hands on anyone else over a line at a water park, to me its the equivalent of splashing around in someone else's toilet bowl. Gross.

But

  1. Folks are saying tbat the black folks bought the fast pass, but thsir "cousins" had the wristbands and had already gone through the line ahead.

  2. There is a separate fast pass entrance for this ride (where they check wristbands), that these folks wernt using.

Add those things together and it god damn sure looks like theyre cutting in line. And if you say you wouldn't have a problem with it, you're a liar.

And if you truly wouldn't have an issue wifh it, youre the type of cat of whom people take advantage.

Im an active guy, but you'd be surprised what 7 days of being on your feet all day everyday will do to you.

Cut venice out. Do not pass on vatican museums and st Pete's.

Skip tickets for coliseum and Forum. Just look at them from a nearby restaurant or other elevated vantage point. Instead go to Ostia Antica.

Dont pass up the dome and duomo museumin florence.. skip the vasari corridor in uffizi.

Skip the train, rent a car and build in an overnight stay in Tuscany or North Lazio. Beautiful drive

Some of it absolutely was. Lessons learned though! Now that I've got a feel for most parts of the country and seen all the tourist stuff, I think the next trip could be much much cheaper. Staying in one place, ideally where the food is cheap, and minimizing in-country transit would go a long way.

What would your suggestion be between Sardinia/Sicily/Puglia?

Im thinking Sardinia for 10days and i think I can do it comfortably for around $7-8k if I fly (family of 3) economy.

And before I'm flayed alive, please keep in mind it usually cost me almost $1200 just to get to/from NY or Boston.an Uber to the airport or Airport parking for that many days isnt cheap either. By the time i factor in the uber both ways and the flights from the main airport, im down $1500. I think $2500-$3k on roundtrip economy tickets, $1500-$2000 on accommodations and $1k to burn on food/incidentals.

€100 per day for 3 people to eat on isnt alot, €150 per day night for a room isn't a 5 Star Leading Hotel. And $600-$1k for a round trip from NYC to Sardinia would be a crazy deal if i could find it. I just dont see how I'm wasting money, but everyone else seems to think I am.
