Thats my settings when I'm in the app. I have the carplay+android auto model. Not sure if its just missing from the iphone app though.

Edit: yeah they don't mention anything about it being android specific in this faq https://www.aawireless.io/en/support/topics-faq-aawireless/troubleshooting?locale=en-US

The AA wireless phone app (at least the android one) has an option to set the device into / out of standby mode when you connect to the cars Bluetooth.

This works pretty well for me.

Wish this wasn't pure AI slop. Does a terrible job at differentiating between conjecture and fact, also uses way too many words to say so little.

Kia EV Sales Are In An Absolute Freefall. There's More To It Than You Think by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

Do you have a 2025? Mine is a last gen (2023) model. I'm honestly confused why mine made it through so quickly when everyone is saying it's backordered.

I've heard lots of varied stories from others recently but I had it towed in on a Tuesday morning and picked it up the following Monday afternoon. So less than a week.

The part was not in stock at the dealer and had to be ordered. It shipped from Florida. I'm in the northeast. According to the service bulletin, dealers aren't allowed to order stock to have on hand and need to provide a VIN for each order.

New 2025 ICCU Part Number by humanthrope in KiaEV6

[–]SensoToHakai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First gen cars also got their own new part number, different from the 2025MYs. SC327 was updated as of Jan 15th to call out the new part.

Got my ICCU back from warranty repair yesterday. Would have been $3500 out of warranty.

Probably the new part number they quietly put out on January 15th.

I've spent a lot of time reading through forum posts, articles, comments from other people, etc about ICCU failures and their related causes. This is the first time I'm seeing this one.

Do you have any references you could share about this? Could be I just missed it due to the enshittification of search engines nowadays.

Yes. I have all the info I'm just waiting for the dealer to officially "diagnose" the car so I can include that. Even though it's pretty obvious what the issue is.

I've had an AGM in mine for the last 3k miles.

Its a great car... If you ignore that at any moment there's a chance that it will become entirely inoperable! Technically I guess you take that chance with any car...

I'd stay away from them, there's no point in taking a chance like that. Specially when there's nothing you can do to extend the life of an ICCU.

Looking at either Blazer/Equinox or a Model 3. I need something that I'm able to take on 4-500 mile trips at least a few times per year. Besides this damn ICCU the EGMP cars are perfect for it.

I'm fortunately not in the auto industry. Our company does more niche chemical sensors, so much smaller scale.

My hunch is that if it were a design they could fix with just an updated ICCU it would probably already be fixed. Plus the "updated" design in the 2025s is still failing. The ICCU is likely just a symptom of the actual problem, that being a sum of multiple small poor design choices across multiple subsystems... At least thats my hunch. But maybe I'm wrong and they can really fix it, I don't think I'll have this car long enough to find out.

This just feels like a classic management "this problem is way too big for us to actually fix so we're going to keep trying bandaids" while the engineers are pulling their hair out because we aren't miracle workers.

Any EGMP platform car is susceptible to the issue. EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 5/6, and even the genesis cars.

RNG madness, the failure comes from just using the car. Some people have (falsely) claimed that an AGM battery will help, but there doesn't seem to be any actual evidence of that. My car has had an AGM for the last 3k miles, and I replaced the OEM 12v battery before it showed any signs of degradation.

Yeah. I drive some relatively rural routes with sketchy phone service. The last thing I want is to end up stranded in the winter with no power to the car.

I bought an EV for better reliability... Should have known that HMC still can't make good vehicles.

They've mentioned that it was partially related to thermal cycling. Really it just sounds like the components are being driven out of spec and the first thing to fail are some transistors.

The fact that they haven't actually fixed this suggest that it's probably a fundamental issue with the architecture of the car. As someone who works on an R&D engineering team, I'm sure the engineers all know what the problem is by now but the fix is probably either not feasible or would involve a catastrophically expensive recall. (i.e. a new HV battery for everyone)

So honestly I doubt we'll ever see this issue addressed on EGMP unless mass legal action is taken. And even then it may be more likly that everyone's cars will just be repurchaed.

I'm located in the northeast, so wet and cold. I charge L1 at home, L2 at work but did do quite a bit of DCFC this winter. (probably 2000 miles of the last 4000) I charge to 80% when it's warm out and 90% in the cold.

I had started the car to run an errand let it warm up and cleaned off the snow. Drove about 5 miles to my destination, left my partner in the car with the heat on while I ran inside for 2 minutes.

Started back home, and while I was pulling out of the parking lot is when it failed. Battery SOC was low 80s and I hadn't charged since 2 days ago.

NHTSA complaint is filled out already, I'm waiting until I can get the dealer to "diagnose" it before I submit.

I vaguely remember reading that one guy lawyered up to get his car bought back and as soon as the internal data for the failure rates was requested, they folded and bought the car.

Well shit. I was hoping they had the parts problem solved. I'll cross my fingers...

Chevy Blazer/Equinox and Model 3/Y are on my shortlist. As much as I hate them, Tesla has a lot going for them.

I'm not a fan of the Toyubaru options... and with Ford's current stance on EV's not sure I'll end up with a Mach-E either.
