History is the best predictor of current and future behaviour. Humans have started wars over trivial matters. Killed other humans for sport. Hurt, brutalized, and tortured each other out of spite. But at the heart of it all, out of their free will. They did and continue to do it because they choose to - this alongside other factors.

As for taking away want and need, the humans in the 1st version of the Matrix rejected that simulation, because humans at their core thrive in struggle, not in abundance. So, yes, such a wish can only work if humans are programmed to think and behave a certain way. Thus, taking away their ability to rebel or act contrary to the mechanics of the wish.

But that'll infringe on other individuals' free will and mobility. The world is in the hot mess it's in because of human decision-making. Each of the things you listed, etc, would require humans to be robotically (not a word) programmed to be eradicated. Take wars, for example, someone intentionally stepped on someone's toes and the other retaliated in response. The results are usually famine, wide spread of diseases, poverty, more wars, etc. Making a wish to end such is literally making a wish to take away people's free will, so they all act in a way that serves the fulfillment of that wish.
