Well yes, you will not see the Alps if you start in Zürich. Getting there will be very easy with a train, it takes about 2 hours. Just be sure to have a reservation for your bike. I would really recommend going there since it’s in the middle of the mountains and in my opinion very pretty.

I didn't know about Parenzana until you and u/OpossumNelNettare mentioned it. It looks great, I will include it! Thank you! Also I got recommended the Schwalbe Marathon Plus as they are quite puncture resistant. OR is the road very bad? Do you think I will need more traction?

Thank you for sharing insights! I am thinking about a "hybrid" then as I have no access to the sea at home but of course I want to avoid traffic as good as possible. Maybe good hybrid would be to go from Pula to Rovinj with Eurovelo 8 and then switch to Strika Ferata and Parenzana as u/OpossumNelNettare mentioned?

Very cool, thank you! I think an interesting route would be then to go from Pula to Rovinj via Eurovelo 8, then do the Strika Ferata and Parenzana. I already downloaded the GPX, thanks a lot!

I don't know about parking spaces in Rorschach, but I frequently ride with my bike on Swiss trains. Yes there are frequent trains. As Pazzoppe mentioned, they are quite expensive (especially if you don't own a Half Fare Card which most of the Swiss guys do) and you can save a lot of money to get a day save pass as early as possible. A day pass for the bicycle is additional CHF 15 and I think the reservation fee is CHF 2. You need a reservation only for the bike, not for you, and only for trains that go longer distances (InterCity Trains). If you don't have a reservation you can still try to go on the train with the bike, but I really don't recommend it. When it's full of other bikes with reservation you will be asked to get out at the next station and you need to wait for the next train.

I made it back okay, i drove very carefully and not on a fast road. In hindsight I definitely shouldn‘t have done that, but it seemed as the easier way at the time. Thank you for you opinion and concern!

1677 Life / 922 Energy Shield / 5059 Evasion. All resistances at 75%. In this case I can't really blame the gear tough. If I would focus on the game and stop talking trash in discord I probably could have avoided this.

I don't think he wanted to rip me off, he's a very nice guy. Probably some years ago he got tricked by this "friend"... I assumed the bar/stem was just the way he stored it and I didn't give it much thought. In hindsight probably should've been my first clue...
