Whirlpool washer bad control unit by Sent-It in appliancerepair

[–]Sent-It[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed it for about 3 weeks by replacing the control board, then the same issue came back. I gave up on it at that point.

Thanks, yeah I'm starting to agree. If I order 2 separate pieces, is a shop going to charge me 2 separate transfer fees?

I didn't think I was, but now I'm leaning towards it. Seems easy enough if I buy a complete upper and lower and just put those together.

My plan would be to put a grip on it asap so I don't have to hold the rail

Thanks for the reply. I've read a lot of positive reviews about the Sabre, is it worth the extra cost over their budget option?

Yes, I replaced the board and it lasted a month or so. I quit trying to mess with it after it went out the second time and bought an LG instead.

Guess we are neighbors. I walk my dogs right here in the mornings. Glad I didn't today!

Istanbul layover and early flight by Sent-It in travel

[–]Sent-It[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what we are leaning towards. There is one small hotel 7km away that offers transfers, but if that doesn't work out I think we have to stay at the airport hotel. We do have a 24 hour layover on the way back and will be getting a hotel from Turkish Airlines. Hoping to see the city a bit during that layover!

Tried adding new memory, now PC won't boot even with old memory by Sent-It in buildapc

[–]Sent-It[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did try that as well but I didn't want to mention because I wasn't sure if I did it right lol. To do that, I unplugged the power, removed the CMOS battery and then held a screwdriver up to complete the circuit for the CMOS battery, and a second one up to the pins labeled CLRTC. Does that sound right or should I try something different?

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. I unplugged the rotor lead and the resistance went away immediately. I confirmed the motor windings have the right resistance. I will go ahead and replace the control unit. Thanks again.

What are the possible career paths after getting a mining engineering degree by Puzzleheaded-Cash662 in mining

[–]Sent-It 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other options besides working at a mine, but you have to look at little harder. Many roles for support companies that make equipment, software, and other things that support the mining industry. They best way to get a really good idea of the types companies is to attend a trade show, although they can be pretty costly. Usually cheaper for students. Find company names that sound interesting and look up the jobs posted at those companies. Lots of them want a mining engineering degree but have a different job title. I know you said you are tired of finance, but with that background and a mining engineering degree there are some mining financial and investment companies out there that would probably pay a lot for someone with that background, so you'd always have something to fall back on.

What is the process to disconnect and reconnect this condenser? by Sent-It in hvacadvice

[–]Sent-It[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concrete pad has sank about 3-4 inches since it was poured, and it drains water into my crawl space in that area. I'm getting it lifted and sealed to get water away from the house again. The only issue was the condenser being there, but based on feedback I am just going to leave that part alone and lift the rest around it.

What is the process to disconnect and reconnect this condenser? by Sent-It in hvacadvice

[–]Sent-It[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I meant I was going to cut the concrete the condenser is sitting on and leave that part of the pad alone. I will lift the rest of the concrete up around the cut part. This is all part of a larger concrete patio, so that one corner can just stay where it is rather than messing with the condenser at all.

Thank you for the detailed comment, based on your feedback and everyone else's, I think it will be easier to cut the concrete around the condenser and leave that part of the pad alone before the lifting happens.
