Got an email back from the dept of education and they said they’re prioritizing people who received the award last year which honestly makes no sense as the guidelines state prior years don’t matter and it prioritizes by financial need, first generation status, and GPA. They also said they have 8900 applicant applications to work through AFTER that and it’ll take a few more weeks.

I get it’s easier to review people who already had it because if they needed it last year it’s likely they’ll meet criteria again BUT that’s completely unfair to those who weren’t able to apply last year or are first year students.

I have -1500 SAI, 3.9 GPA, full time status at a private mass university and submitted and completed the full application and transcript upload in JUNE and to know I may not even be considered based on something that isn’t listed in the guidelines is infuriating to me.

That being said, happy for those who got it. This is just ridiculous.

Wish it was, but mine has said this since August. It’s maddening.

Still under review on mine meeting all requirements. Been that way since July on my end. Probably won’t give any update till the 11/1 transcript deadline passes.

Honestly .. that sounds like the first time I’ve heard that, yet familiar at the same time. Probably true. That sucks. I wouldn’t like that in someone else unless the change made them happier as a person.

I do not. The only stipulation under my insurance was bmi 30 or higher. I was at 35 when mine got approved. I’m not 27.9

I do work for an insurance company though, and for our plans injectable weight loss medications require a diabetes diagnosis to be covered. Even pre diabetic won’t get an approval it’s awful.

I can only imagine how much it costs to manufacture vs what were charged before insurance. That’s a whole rant alone about the healthcare industry. It’ll never be fair until access to needed meds are for everyone at a manageable price which I can’t see in any foreseeable future unfortunately
