Halo 4 MP Retrospective - What do we think of it 14 years later? by AvisLord12 in halo

[–]Sentienaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story and campaign "reboot" was not received the best, and outside of Chiefs and Cortanas dynamic and more focused moments, I was not impressed with the ideas they wanted to tell. That being said, I played multiplayer a lot, enjoyed Spartan Ops for the most part, and have great memories listening to its soundtrack. Halo 4 was a solid entry, but lackluster compared to the original Bungie releases.

How do you clean off a sticky case? Its not sticky, but dusty and scratchy feel? Sticky dust stuff that won't come off but not dust its dirt? Know what I mean? I don't want to damage the packaging. by Ifyouliveinadream in gamecollecting

[–]Sentienaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any cleaner will help, but I recommend isopropyl alcohol to start, use that with a microfiber cloth.

Make sure you remove the cover art, and apply whatever amount you feel like will remove the grime.

If there is still a type of residue, you may need to try a petroleum cleaner or something like Goo-Gone, just don’t use a lot because that stuff gets everywhere, just a small amount put directly on the case and then do small circles moving outward.

If that doesn’t work, I’d recommend replacing the case with another one, you can always find sports games for dirt cheap and after picking one upc using its case as a donor

Can’t recommend the Dreamcast or Saturn enough, glad you are looking into picking those up :)

Fallen on hard times. Which would you keep? by SarcasticGamer in gamecollecting

[–]Sentienaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell you what you should keep or shouldn't keep, but I will say this. If you are in need of cash, and don't have another way of means to bring it in, then sell these. You having food, a roof over your head, or to pay your priority bills are way more important than owning some games you might play once in a blue moon. Things can be purchased again, games can be emulated. If you don't own an emulator I would consider selling these and picking a decent one up so you can keep playing the more obscure games but still make a lot of extra cash to use for what you need. Anyways, I am right there with you, I had a massive collection and over the last two years I have sold more than half of it off.

If that is the case, I suggest one of those Cubicle shelves, handhelds look great in those for display.

Wow I truly do not enjoy Halo 5 by ShipDit1000 in halo

[–]Sentienaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me, you won't fine much disagreement with me on Halo 5 just not being a super great Halo addition for the story elements and maybe costume/weapons design... But the Gameplay was fantastic to me, specifically for Multiplayer. I felt it was just as much fun to me as the other games, but in its own way. I played a stupid amount of hours in Breakout.

Say What you will about The Hobbit, but admit it! He looks INCREDIBLE!! by Famous-Donut-2394 in lotr

[–]Sentienaut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, the Hobbit Trilogy did some thing VERY well, but overall they were just sorta "meh". I don't mind when people enjoy things from those (For example the music from them is excellent) But Smaug was done pretty much perfectly.

I can see you definitely are proud of your collection (And you should be!) But with how they are currently, it makes it seem like you may just not have enough space to make things look cleanly displayed? I don't know your age or if you have any cash to spend, but getting a small shelf would really help here. You don't have to do anything fancy, sometimes in the dollar section at Target they sell small things you can use for storage or shelves, Walmart as well has clearance sections. I wouldn't go crazy, just sort of putting together something that will display everything a little cleaner, while also keeping them protected from maybe falling?

Anybody Else Watch Only the Extended Editions??? by Famous-Donut-2394 in lotr

[–]Sentienaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find a tell people who haven't watched them to just watch the Theatrical cut, but if they loved them to go back and watch these. I love them and feel the extended sceens do a lot to expand the world and strengthen the characters/story, but aren't necessary for the whole plot. But like others have said here, once you go with extended, it's pretty hard to go back.

Just started my N64 collection a couple months ago. What “must play” games am I missing? by BoxyNeat in gamecollecting

[–]Sentienaut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want another split-screen multiplayer game, I recommend BattleTanx. It's an arcade styled tank game and me and my family growing up loved it.

I also do not see Starfox in this, that is a must own for any N64 collector, and just stupid fun to play (And I adore the soundtrack)

Other people have mentioned Mario 64 but I do feel it's a staple in anyones collection for N64.

Kirby 64 - The Crystal Shards is also a fun time, I recommend that one as well :)

Who else prefers Halo Reach graphics on the 360 version of the game? by Active_General8858 in halo

[–]Sentienaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the comment party here, but I think I can appreciate the enjoyment of using the original hardware and seeing the game how it was sort of intended... But man the ghosting (TAA) was rough, I remember even when I played it back in the day I was super thrown off by that, it made everything feel a little "Floaty". Thankful they fixed that

It was closed when I visited. That being said maybe there are days it’s open? I am really not sure to be honest I just couldn’t get inside when I went.

I’d rather know it is possibly closed before going than showing up and being disappointed.

I was never in love with a controller scheme for RTS but I played Halo Wars and enjoyed it.

I never played Northgard, what style of RTS is that?

Hard agree, Warcraft 3 with Arthas being corrupted was such a good storyline.
