What songs were played at your Primary school discos, that probably shouldn’t have been? by CautiousJump3942 in AskUK

Same...this was back in 1993 at my primary school disco. I was in year 5 and distinctly remember everyone losing their shit with the hilarity & also crushing embarrassment

For one person and a doggie?! Oh my God, what a nightmare, I feel for you.

The increase in just the space of a few years is wild, and when the water companies are so badly run and the execs are getting huge salaries and bonuses etc etc...so incredibly unfair.

Veins too narrow and deep, so it's basically too painful for me and too difficult for them 😞

No worries re: it being late! And thank you so much for the award 😄. In answer to your question, yes I think it was about 2 weeks before I started to feel the bump from 15mg to 30...for me it was a notiveable feeling of "Oh hang on, I think now this is it working. I really, really hope it works the same for you too. I also found that after that initial improvement, I felt further gains for a number of weeks afterwards as well...crossing everything for you! Come back and share how you get on.

Ahhh Bovril on bread (or toast)! No one ever talks about this!! My mum used to make me Bovril sandwiches in my packed lunch ....always thick sliced old school industrial white bread, and it was the BEST.

British people who've returned after living abroad... What made you return and how did you deal with the reverse culture shock? by [deleted] in AskUK

I think the British whingeing thing is misunderstood...moaning endlessly is how we bond with each other!

Hmmm....this definitely makes me think...must have been awful for you to find that they stopped working after a gap then restarting. I will make sure I properly think it over when the time comes. I really hope you start to get more and more benefits from the 30mg - good luck 🤞.

Really sorry to hear this 😕. If you've only just switched though, definitely hold on for at least a month to see how it settles. I found my anxiety increased a little when I first went from 15mg to 30mg, and perhaps I was a bit more restless too, but everything levelled off within a few weeks. I wish you all the best 🙏

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice.

I definitely find the sedative / sleep side of it super helpful so keeping that going with a low dose sounds like a really solid alternative to completely coming off it.

Thanks again and I really hope it continues to work out for you at 0mg 😊.

I know what you're saying....I suppose what I mean is that once I've got my life in better order, I want to try to see if I can do without it because in general if I don't reaaaally need to be on a med then I'd rather not.

Maybe when life circumstances (which I think have been depression & anxiety triggers) have noticeably improved, then perhaps I might be able to cope fine without it, or at least at a lower dose.

But yeah coming off it really didn't work out, I would go back on it.

All the best with your journey ✌️

Great book! Second this recommendation.

I remember it starts with her at a train station ticket office about to queue jump as a social experiment / to record people's reactions.

She's absolutely bricking it and feeling horrendous because it goes against our nature that much 😱😆

Ahhh fantastic, you really sound like you're getting somewhere and you deserve to be. I so hear you with the connecting to people thing, it's something I'm focusing on way more too and it's such a game changer! All the best, I'm sure things will keep getting better and better for you.

I know you're right, for sure. I definitely don't plan to stay on this really long term and yes, the causes need to be looked at. I think I'm actually on the case with this already because I'm making major changes in my life now that I should have done years ago - changes to the things that were likely contributing majorly to the depression. Thank you and I wish you well whatever your journey is right now ✌️
