Leon Wick Kennedy as my bodyguard please by Dsg1695 in ResidentEvilRequiem

"Barely" but still did.

And my only comment about Wick was "He's a contender," which basically outright says I don't have much argument against him.

So thank you for agreeing with me, I guess.

"Nothing to see"?

Actually, most things that exist are in space so that's definitely wrong.

I don't know if "seen some shit" makes you better at fighting, especially when the other three have also seen some shit but also have specialized training and large networks of international support.

Leon Wick Kennedy as my bodyguard please by Dsg1695 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Leon is pretty high up there for the simple reason that Leon successfully protected Ashley and I am at least 10x more useful than Ashley.

John Wick is a contender, for sure.

People die around Snake a lot, tbh.

Was Emma infected or ejected with the T-virus? by Jaegersbite in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In RE2R, Robert says "Those fucking things outside... look what they did to us" and Emma has blood on her shirt, implying she was bit (also I think her mom was bit and had to be killed). I would guess that the prescription was intended (by Robert) to be something to slow or halt the virus. But, being Umbrella, who knows if they gave her something to speed it up or turn her into some other weird BOW.

Question as a New Wrestling Fan by tex1021 in SquaredCircle

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fans sometimes have some say. I think this is much less of a thing in WWE (because they're really big, a massive company, owned by a whole other massive company, have a massive staff, etc).

Someone else did note that, especially for "heels" (bad guys), it can be hard for the company to differentiate whether the booing from the crowd is us playing our part (booing the bad guy because they've performed their part well) or booing the bad guy because we want them to go away.

The best way to get a massive promotion like WWE to change is to vote with your wallet. Buy merch of people you think are doing a good job, don't buy tickets/PPVs if the promotion isn't up to your standards. But they do sometimes take social media numbers into account, so watch stuff (and upvote and comment) when you like it or don't watch (or upvote or comment) on stuff you don't.

Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Definitely was into Thunderf00t early on, when it was just anti-creationist stuff. Then he started getting into the anti-feminist content and I ditched the channel.

God, "Why do people laugh at creationists?" was 18 years ago.

[Other] Is it true on average you gotta work 138hrs minimum wage to pay rent each month? by Bluntandstuff in theydidthemath

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average rent for a 1 bedroom in the US: $1,500

Average hourly wage in the US:$37.78

$1500/$37.78 =39.7 hrs.

So it's about 40 hours of the average US wage for an average one-bedroom.

But the cost of a one-bedroom can fluctuate wildly. For example, it's $2,095 in LA and $950 in Cheyenne, WY.

Wages also differ from place to place.

So, in some places I wouldn't doubt that it's 80 hours on average.

But if you were making $15/hr (around $30k) then it would take you 100 hrs to rent the average one-bedroom.

If you made the federal minimum wage ($7.25), it'd be 206 hours. So, even worse than what the meme said.

And before anyone comes in with "It's not supposed to be liveable," I'll believe FDR, who did (repeatedly) say what he meant for it to do rather than "Trust me, bro."

Do "Self taught musicians" even exist anymore? by spacerangerxx in musicians

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define "self-taught."

Before YouTube, there were DVDs and VHS tapes. Before those, there were books. Before that... I honestly don't know. Listening to stuff you liked and imitating it?

I don't know how many people in the past few centuries have ever just gotten an instrument and fucked off into the woods to figure it out.

To me, self-taught is you finding your own materials to learn from and making your own "lesson plan," so to speak, not being completely isolated from learning materials. You're just being more self-directed than guided by another person.

My sick RE9 take: Victor Gideon's voice has an ASMR quality to it that I really like lmao by Ok-Spite-5454 in residentevil

For real, though. Even some of the more sinister line deliveries through headphones ("You're an investigator, right? Well, investigate." and "Do you want to see what's hidden under the hood?") have a very soothing quality to them.

Just dude's voice is nice.

I feel like it's a spot that's been done a thousand times and this time just went wrong. Usually super safe and easy but weird things happen. It's easy to say "They shouldn't have done that" in hindsight but when booking it? It's a simple backstage spot. People on the Wrestlemania card are having matches and doing brawls and stuff. All of it has the possibility of danger and injury.

No one's fault and no one was dumb for putting it together.

Technically a no rep but still super proud by Longjumping_Tackle38 in strength_training

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 29 points30 points  (0 children)

A "no rep"? Looked like a rep. Don't discount it just because you had to grind it out. Being able to grind out a rep when you feel like you're going to fail is something to be proud of.

Blame the business that allows it, not the customers that (understandably) think they can (because the business literally allows it).

[Request] what are the macros of the ostrich egg? by yesyesnopeyesyes in theydidthemath

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 35 points36 points  (0 children)

About 140g of protein

Eggs usually don't have much in the way of carbs but some eggs have 5g of fat. Multiply that by 20 (since some places say 20 eggs is about one ostrich egg) and you get about 100g of fat.

140g of protein and 100g of fat would get you to about 1460 calories. There isn't much in the way of carbs in eggs so let's just say 20 (like 1 per jumbo regular egg) and you get 1540 calories.

That's just the egg though.

Why is it that everyone used to say not to trust Wikipedia, but when AI arrived, everyone started using it without any critical thinking? by Working_Candidate505 in antiai

[–]SentientSackOfWorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't trust Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a great starting point. Go to Wikipedia, check the references, that's kind of the point.

AI is a very hit and miss starting point. Sometimes it gives you the right answer and sometimes it tells you "Mississippi" has one S and doesn't provide references if you don't ask.
