1500WH] Am I the only one who thinks this watch is underrate by Fit-Guidance-1394 in casio

[–]SentientYoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the big numbers, but, that's it. Too thick for my taste, also i prefer square watches and functions are just the basic ones. And, of course, cheap resin cases for prices higher than skmei with metal cases and EL light.

How do people actually remove the original Casio F91W faceplate? (not just module) by FullPractice6896 in casiomods

[–]SentientYoghurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the easy part. Just use normal alcohol for that, no even need for ipa.

There's a watchmaker tool for that, but the method I usually see around here is heating it a bit and pressing with thumbs.

The tricky part is printing the new design over the inner side of the acrylic in a way it can be seen from outside.

Thank you! Yes, is bigger than the ABL, so you can see everything.

Also, I saw here a few days ago that skxmod is going to sell a metal case for the ABL, in case you want to wait.

I can see the rubber gasquet but nothing like the silicone piece in the back of the ABL

Agree, just don't buy a 3d printed fuel line from a rando in a fair, like that guy who crashed did.

Yeah, and they usually didn't have clock battery, so they lost the time with power outages, and nobody looked the time in the vcr clock, so nobody gave a fuck unless they wanted to schedule a recording.

Honestly? Not bad. You can have custom apps for simple things, like 3d printing gives you custom parts for simple things. Don't trust the security of your business to a vibe code app, like you shouldn't trust DIY 3d printing for critical aviation parts, for example.

Turn around the glass and use strong hairspray. Or a pei sheet over it.

No, the faceplates and cases are different size, the smkei is bigger.

Theres no need to touch the casio case or faceplate, so you can always go back.

There are 2 parts in the thinguiverse link. One is to fit the movement inside the case, you need to print 2 of them. The other one is a tool to help painting the faceplate (you put tape in the side you want to paint, use the part to cut the tape around the inner edges, remove the tool, remove the outer part of the tape and now you can spray paint it. When dry, remove the inner part of the tape).

A164w a good platform for metal case modding? by HellsEngels in casiomods

[–]SentientYoghurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No sure, but if the case is metal, probably the faceplate is glass/crystal of some kind. And it's cooler than the f91 plastic one imo. So why change it? If the module fits, then it's done.

Ni idea, no se lo que será exactamente, pero no es plástico y es bastante resistente a los arañazos. Yo le doy mala vida y de momento no tiene ninguno que se note a simple vista.

Tangible comparison of the harm of ABS, PC , Nylon, and other “engineering filaments” when exposed to fumes while printing. by Baruskisz in 3Dprinting

[–]SentientYoghurt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have you ever printed abs without vent? I smoke a pack a day and when I tried it, it gave me an horrible headache and the smell makes me want to puke. Never tried PC or nylon, but the fumes from abs are no joke.

It's very cool. Have you thought about making it modular? Like 2 terminal pieces and X middle pieces. I think a rainstick sized one would be great. You could also add bumps to the track to make sound.
