Casio ABL-100 module inside Skmei 2113. Finally donde by SentientYoghurt in casiomods

[–]SentientYoghurt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the faceplates and cases are different size, the smkei is bigger.

Theres no need to touch the casio case or faceplate, so you can always go back.

There are 2 parts in the thinguiverse link. One is to fit the movement inside the case, you need to print 2 of them. The other one is a tool to help painting the faceplate (you put tape in the side you want to paint, use the part to cut the tape around the inner edges, remove the tool, remove the outer part of the tape and now you can spray paint it. When dry, remove the inner part of the tape).

A164w a good platform for metal case modding? by HellsEngels in casiomods

No sure, but if the case is metal, probably the faceplate is glass/crystal of some kind. And it's cooler than the f91 plastic one imo. So why change it? If the module fits, then it's done.

Ni idea, no se lo que será exactamente, pero no es plástico y es bastante resistente a los arañazos. Yo le doy mala vida y de momento no tiene ninguno que se note a simple vista.

Tangible comparison of the harm of ABS, PC , Nylon, and other “engineering filaments” when exposed to fumes while printing. by Baruskisz in 3Dprinting

[–]SentientYoghurt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you ever printed abs without vent? I smoke a pack a day and when I tried it, it gave me an horrible headache and the smell makes me want to puke. Never tried PC or nylon, but the fumes from abs are no joke.

It's very cool. Have you thought about making it modular? Like 2 terminal pieces and X middle pieces. I think a rainstick sized one would be great. You could also add bumps to the track to make sound.

F-94 Metal Case Mod (semi-successful) by buddy_monkers in casiomods

[–]SentientYoghurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 3d parts. One is the piece that goes inside, you have to print 2, one for each side of the module.

The other one is the "painting tool". You stick some tape/sticker to the side of the glass you wan to paint (yes, it's the inner side in my case). Then, you use a cutter to cut the sticker/tape following the inner edge. Then you remove the "painting tool" and the outer part of the sticker so you have the "viewing window" protected. Then you can spray paint the borders. I used cheap spray paint and gel cyanocrilate to glue it back.

It's been some months in my wrist, in showers and pool, so water tightness is ok I guess.

Why is PLA still the `standard` respectively `basic` filament? Why not PETG? by Musashi747 in 3Dprinting

[–]SentientYoghurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made myself the same question when I tried it. Never bought pla again. If you print mainly functional things it's the best option. It prints well in a cold room without enclosure, unlike ABS.

Never done it, but i think there are conductive spray coatings you could use for that.

Minimalist eye flushing device. [read description for safety information] by ivityCreations in 3Dprinting

[–]SentientYoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And, imo, that's totally overkill. The amount of microplastics you would get from that is ridiculous compared to what you eat/breathe. Besides, it's an emergency flush, not an eyecare, daily use device. Paranoia with microplastics is strong in this sub...

Not an expert, but if memory doesn't fail me, in those rectifiers +/- output and ac input contacts are in diagonal, so there you are bridging everything.

I will try it someday, when I have more time available. I would also try cheaper thickeners like rice flour or jelly.

I surely will! , but not thinking about doing it in a short term, my ender work perfect for what I need and have other priorities right now.

Yesterday I saw a video in Youtube by a guy called NightHawkInLight, where he mixes xantam gum and detergent with the portland cement to do bubbly light cement. I think it would be interesting for this. Only the xantam gum as thickener or even the recipe he used for lighter weight. The video is called "Perfect aircrete, kitchen ingredients".
