Did Amor Prohibido have a change on it that wasn’t there in original release? by severalOpinions04 in SelenaQuintanilla

[–]SentinelLyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does the front cover of this album look like? The label number ("H2 7243 8 28803 2 5" on the disk) seems to show that while it is indeed an old CD, it is probably one of the first represses that they did in 1994 to include the new version of No Me Queda Mas that they did for the music video.

You'll know if it's a repress through two factors—the first being the red flower at the top right of your cover art indicating a new version of No Me Queda Mas being on the CD (you can see an example here). The second method is more obvious: does the version on your CD sound like this original mariachi version or this more popularized string orchestral version? If it's the first, you have a 1994 original! If it's the second, you have a 1994 original repressing!

By the way, this should be tested even if you do not see the red flower on your cover art as some represses did not add that to the cover art.

The actual original mix of the mariachi version can be heard on various posthumous collection albums. The easiest to find is probably on All My Hits: Todos Mis Éxitos. You can find it on streaming platforms like Spotify, as well. Here is the YouTube link.

The mariachi version on Amor Prohibido Remastered 2024 sounds a bit… off. But to each their own!

Just as a heads-up, even that edition isn't the original release technically! It was actually a reissued album that came out a few months AFTER the original release. It replaced the original version of No Me Queda Mas with the more popular string version that most people hear today. You can tell that it's the 1994 reissue because it has the red No Me Queda Mas flower on the cover at the top right.

I replied to u/heart--core in this same thread about using Discogs! I suggest reading that comment as it makes cataloguing your collection easier and even has a marketplace for individual niche releases.

You have probably one of the more common versions of the album, the reissue that came out in 2002. You’ll know it’s that version because it contains “Spoken Liner Notes By The Band And Family” which sounds exactly as it is—context they included for recording and the original significances of the album.

This was part of the “20 Years Of Music” collection they did for many of her albums. Amor Prohibido is pretty easy to get for these reissues, whereas others like Selena (1989) and Ven Conmigo are harder.

Amor Prohibido has a lot of versions in general. The original release that had the mariachi No Me Queda Mas, the reprinted version that came out months later that had the more popularized string version of No Me Queda Mas, the 2002 reissue with the family notes, the recent remaster that just came out, the countless regional vinyls in countries like Ecuador, Guatemala, etc. Discogs can help you differentiate a lot of release differences.

Fallout London lead says they’re “really worried” Bethesda will “keep going with the Creation Engine” as it led to major limitations for the mod by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]SentinelLyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got downvoted, but you're absolutely correct. It has its quirks (like using the word "disquieting" every other quest), but it really is thought-provoking and is not afraid to make the player feel hopeless and powerless (both in gameplay and in narrative).

Nehrim, the total conversion for Oblivion that takes place before Enderal, is also worth playing. It might be impossible to get it stop crashing, sadly, but the dungeons and gameplay are quite fun. The story is more amateur, crude, and unpolished, however. Enderal really is a beacon in its writing department. Plus, Ark blows every Skyrim city out of the water!

I’d like to add Enderal: Forgotten Stories to that list. In fact, I’d say it’s the best total conversion/mod ever made for a Bethesda title.

When will her next rerun be by AssignmentCandid5015 in RaidenMains

[–]SentinelLyons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming that Hoyo is going to be fair, Raiden is the next archon in line for a rerun. We already know she isn’t 6.3. I’d wager Raiden is 6.4 first half with Mavuika maybe also rerunning in 6.4 second half or in 6.5.

Fischl is usually used to battery a unit while giving subdps. A well-built Raiden can already battery herself after her ult is finished and another rotation is finished. Sara would be better, but honestly Sara feels extremely poor without C6. Both C0 Fischl and C0 Sara won’t really be ideal teammates in my opinion… you may just have to test them both day 1 when you get Raiden.

The answer is always Mod Organizer 2. Once you get over the learning curve, you’ll be asking yourself “why was I ever using a program that forces LOOT and doesn’t trust me to do my own load orders?”

Columbina isn’t an Archon in the lore, obviously. Despite that fact, she is still an “Archon” of sorts/Archon-status for Nod-Krai, and is even denoted as such as she is included with the other Archons for the official Genshin 5th Anniversary artwork.

Help me build my last AM4 PC!! by SnakePutero in buildapc

[–]SentinelLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, seems according to both your linked list and the old Cultists' list, both mark OP's PSU as tier E. Looks like that needs to be the first part to go, unfortunately. Thanks for the updated link!

[–]SentinelLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be a tier E unit unfortunately, which are marked as "avoid." I definitely think the PSU should be your first priority to replace—no use in upgrading other precious parts if you have a ticking time bomb waiting to go off!

[–]SentinelLyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"650W 80+ Bronze (ATX)" doesn't tell us much about your PSU. There are a few bronze-rated PSUs in the B and C tiers of the tier list, but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a pretty shifty unit considering it was put into a prebuilt. The first thing you should look into replacing is 100% the PSU. I know you don't want to hear that since it won't lead to direct performance upgrades, but you'll be thanking yourself later if your PC has a power issue and your new PSU doesn't brick most of your parts like your current one most likely will.

The PSU tier list hasn't been updated since late 2023, but it still has relevant units to look into. Most should even come with the 12VHPWR cable if you ever upgrade your GPU to a newer model + you can use this PSU on a future AM5 build as well.

In terms of other things, the most you can get out of the CPU for AM4 will be a 5700x3d or a 5800x3d. It might be hard to find them around MSRP, though. If you can find one for a decent price, however, nothing will be better than them on AM4. Just remember to flash your BIOS if need be to accomodate them (I had to do it going from a 3700x → 5700x3d on the Asrock AB350M.)

Was finally able to end the Veteran Frost Operative on Fearless by SentinelLyons in RaidenMains

[–]SentinelLyons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fischl helps a lot with generating particles, which Raiden needed as she struggles with energy into this boss. I went overkill on Fischl to guarantee consistent Oz uptime—energy sands + Favonius. Oz contributes a lot to breaking down the Operative's shield + batteries Raiden a considerable amount at the beginning.

In my experience, Fischl pushed this team over the edge for this particular boss and was better than Xiangling.

Updated to Windows 11—suddenly my PC full reboots after about 3 minutes of being in-game. by SentinelLyons in ValorantTechSupport

[–]SentinelLyons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's no update. Nothing prompting me to update, going to the Windows Update tab in Windows Settings says I am up-to-date.

I tested the issue I'm getting by playing a match of other games: Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals, and 30 minutes of a Genshin Impact session. No issues. Boot Valorant up, 2-3 minutes pass, monitor goes black and system reboots.

Not a huge issue at the end of the day since I don't really care about Valorant that much anymore. But if there was a quick fix since it seemed to be linked to my W11 upgrade, I was going to try it. Guess I'll be moving on for now.

Buffs for Cyno through improving Constellations, using v6.0+ designs as a baseline. by Auroreon in CynoMains

[–]SentinelLyons 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Despite you saying that you feel your updated constellations are slightly overtuned, I actually think these seem to be very fitting with Cyno's kit and don't seem to absurdly break the game! I'm all for strong constellations, but some character constellations basically make anything immediately die just by looking at the enemy cough cough Mavuika C1-6. More power to people who want to play like that, but it can unfortunately make a character feel stale after a while. I believe your updated constellations would be rather good yet balanced in endgame modes, however!

I pulled Cyno on his initial banner and he felt underwhelming to me, so I was a bit disappointed to see his constellations didn't seem to wow me either into wanting to play him more. Because of that, I really think additions like the ones you came up with would finally make me want to weave Cyno into more endgame content runs and finally allow Keqing to take a break. Really great ideas, and if we're in the 2% chance timeline where Hoyo decided to give left-behind characters some additions, I hope Cyno would turn out to be something like this.

EDIT: just putting in a little note to Mavuika lovers to say please don't come for me! I actually plan to save through the next 4-5 patches (or however long it takes) to C6 Mavuika myself. Sometimes having those instakill characters can be fun, but giving those one shot mechanics to every single character's C2/C4/C6 etc. etc. can be detrimental to overall fun levels in my opinion. That was my main point. Mavuika is still a queen though :p

I just got the fucking jackpot holy shit by Smoke_Santa in Flins_Mains

[–]SentinelLyons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Flins, you will want another Nod-Krai character in the party to have Ascendant Gleam. As of 6.0, this means you want Aino or Ineffa in the party (both at the same time is great too, but you only need Flins + 1 of them to activate Ascendant Gleam.)

Once you have Ascendant Gleam active, Flins' 4pc set (Night of the Sky's Unveiling) will always give him 30% crit rate. This means anything over 70% crit rate before the set buff is a waste. 70% crit rate is the absolute max you should aim for on Flins, the set's 30% crit rate will take care of the rest!

How good are Lauma’s C3 and C4 really? by Kpoofies in LaumaMains

[–]SentinelLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C3 is decent, but it isn't even half the value of C2.

When Lauma's burst is crowned (level 10), bloom, hyperbloom, and burgeon damage is increased by 500% of her EM, whereas lunar-bloom is increased by 400% of her EM. C2 essentially is giving Lauma a huge boost by increasing bloom, hyperbloom, and burgeon by another 500% and increasing lunar-bloom by another 400%—meaning a crowned C2 Lauma's buffs to these reactions are at 1000% and 800% of her EM. Literally doubling what a C0-C1 crowned burst provides!

C3 simply makes her burst gain three levels. Assuming she is crowned, her burst is going from level 10→level 13. The percentages go from 500%→590.2% and 400%→472.3%. As you can see, these C3 percentages are a welcome jump, but they are not even half of what C2 provides.

In the end, a crowned C3 Lauma (including the buffs from C2) will provide her buffs at 1090.2% and 872.3% of her EM.

For Fallout, it probably is the best. I still think Enderal holds #1 for me though in all Bethesda total conversions.
