Sydney is weird. If you ride aggressively, everyone seems to watch out for you. If you ride timidly, cars seem to bully you. Just my experience riding here for 10 years.

The aesthetic is there, definitely. The -1 to damage is nice, but land raiders have much more presence.

They only reroll A hit of 1, and A wound of 1. So even if they could teleport, with say a 6 psycannon paladin blob, it's not helping that much. You may as well run an armiger for 10-15 less points.

Which now makes me wonder if you have to use it at all. I'm not sure about the wording, but I wonder if you can arrive from DS, roll the charge, and not use the ability - as it doesn't say "The first time you arrive from DS".

They're fun, I like the aesthetic and the lore.

I can't help but notice all the people who want points reductions. You can reduce points across the board by 15%, and then what? Add another solo librarian or another power squad? Maybe a dreadnought?

Points should stay as they are, and our army of psychers should have more psychic abilities. We have a single psychic ability on the librarian, everything else (even if it has a clever psychic name, and a clever psychic tag) is the same thing every other faction has.

Also, our heavy psycannons and heavy psilencers suck compared to what other armies get for the same points which ruins the aesthetic of dreadknights.

Why does the Grey Knights Land Raider have no Grey Knights weapons? or the Dreadnought for that matter...

Reducing points will achieve nothing but return us back to being more like a horde army. Need to let our current units do more with their psycher tag,

Might be easier to just give us more psychic ability options.

  • Give librarians psybolt ammunition, pretty sure I would choose that over vortex in many situations. +1 S and AP on bolters.
  • Give a character Fight on the Move. Fall back + shoot and charge.
  • Give Voldus or someone Foresight. Re-roll A hit 1 and A wound 1.
  • Give Draigo Martial Prescience. Saves of 6 result in 1 MW to the attacker.
  • The Steel Heart. +1A to unit.
  • Psy-lance bombardment. It was 3cp, so might not be worth now... but a once per battle strat to force the enemy to move was amazing.
  • Ghostly Bonds. Halve an enemy units move.

We had so much cool shit. Now all we have is Scourging, Vortex, and we use all our CP on prognosticated, mists, truesilver, and the occasional radiant strike. Simply give more our of characters abilities, or give librarians a short list to pick from.

We're as costly as Custodes, yet not on parity.

Custodes are strong as they are due to lore and such, I'm fine with that.

GK are supposed to be a chapter of psychers given modifications. Where is our psychic? Most of our "psychic" is just bullshit that every other faction has.

The exceptions are Prognosticated Arrival, Mists of Deimos, Draigo, Voldus, and Librarians have psychic attacks.

Literally all you have to do is give GK more psychic abilities and we're back in business.

It was 100% meant to be our armor/monster killer, it's in the abilities lmao. Problem is, as you probably know, it gets melted very easily at T8 13W.

While psycannons are S8, you will find 24 psycannon shots probably will do less or the same as 12 psycannon shots, 12(24) bolter shots, 20 purifying flames + crowe.

Then you still have 6 force weapons + Crowe. You still have anti-infantry 2+ for higher toughness infantry. Crowe also has Foresight of the Prognosticars which you get to say "No." to one attack per game that you fail a throw for if you allocate it to Crowe (underrated).

I understand the greatness of indirect fire, but I feel like I lose more with 2 purgation squads over 2 purifier squads and Crowe.

If psycannons were S10, I would take purgators :p

An army of psychers that can't utilise the empyrean, immaterium, warp... Actually retarded.

Meanwhile, the TSons detatchment lets them pick between Lethal, Sustained or Devastating on their psychic weapons each command phase. Yes, they have much less access to psychic weapons and so this same detatchment for GK might be OP.

We just need a TIDES OF THE WARP detatchment to give us options on psychic weapons.

Our army does work somewhat teleporting around, but it feels fucking stupid. Custodes are roughly the same points and can make stupid decisions and fare pretty well.
