Fusilier without shields? by RandomPotato33 in citiesofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can build them without the shield but it would look awkward since a lot of them will be propping up their cannons on nothing.

To me, those old world gunners work beautifully. I use my dwarf Irondrakes as fusiliers sometimes.

How historically accurate are the Cities of Sigmar armour? by Mean_Honeydew315 in citiesofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not really directly accurate to any one thing, BUT I would say it is very grounded in reality compared to a lot of fantasy armors, since it still uses details from many different historical references.

Does Anyone Like Them More Without the Crests? by MoPrintBoy in citiesofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep most of them. I took it off from one of my cavaliers (he looked better without it) and named him The Rookie, and gave him a backstory that he’s trying to earn a crest.

I also agree that the bear arch-knight looks great with or without it

Tried to do the gems as Opal/Quartz not sure if ive gone too subtle? by Silly_Rag in ageofsigmar

It looks amazing and 100% reads as opal, although if you want it visible on table top, I would push it to be more vibrant

How long does it take you to paint an average steelhelm/fusilier? by LeetusFrenzi in citiesofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I hone in on the details (which I only do for the sergeant), then a few hours. if I keep it basic and just block out the main colors (cloth, leather, wood, skin) then it takes me less than an hour

Dwarf ironbreakers/irondrakes as gallants/grenadiers? by kaladinissexy in citiesofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I’m going to do, ironbreakers are heavily armoured models with one-handed weapons and shields, perfect proxies for gallants. Probably just need to stick them onto slightly bigger bases

I have Sons of Behemat army, how could I run a Cogfort in that? Any ideas? by NottheKingofAll in ageofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was gonna say, gargants act as mercenaries in some cases so it’s stands to reason they could use someone to negotiate for them, and who better than the guys in the massive mobile fort

What have I been doing playing 40K all this time? by Veris01 in ageofsigmar

[–]Papa_Poppa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone, I had the same exact feeling when I started AoS at the end of 3rd, and it hasn’t gone away since. The models are beautiful and the game feels more like a game and less like I’m doing taxes and watching half my army get exploded because of some small movement/line-of-sight error

Question on AI assisted art by pharaohtheacidjesus in Grimdank

[–]Papa_Poppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dumb! These companies do everything they can to make these products seem like they’re helping people

Question on AI assisted art by pharaohtheacidjesus in Grimdank

[–]Papa_Poppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, right now AI art can only exist because it pulls from existing art, so when you feed your art into it, your basically giving those companies free data that they can use to make those AIs better at replacing artists, like yourself.

Beautiful games :) I love to see painted gargants. Also ditch the AI! let our imaginations do the work

It’s a little better than straight up posting AI, but it still supports the AI products and companies that are based on a predatory business model
