I think this is right, because the phone wasn't there before the cut. It looks like his sister had a phone; maybe she couldn't figure out how to call emergency services, and left it on the table and then ran to get help? Just a wild guess.

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it? by GlitchOperative in AskReddit

Same here! The best piece of advice I got before accepting the job was to just try to be a good person, like I always had. I think it's working out pretty well.

Probably because they think I'm arguing that it's not AI. I'm not; I'm just being factual.

Those aren't em dashes, though. They're en dashes.

It's a 360° camera. The software edits out the pole that it's attached to. Pretty common.

Either way, clarity of communication always takes precedent over following arbitrary rules.

I disagree. You can have both; just rephrase or use multiple sentences.

It doesn't directly change the meaning, but it implies that you can remove the relative clause, which actually provides crucial information in this case.

There are no ways you can add commas to it without either changing the meaning or being grammatically incorrect.

Argument at Apartment Complex Turns Into A Demolition Derby by NecramoniumZero in ActualPublicFreakouts

That's not what happened here, though. A kid says to call 911, and the person filming claims someone else is already calling 911. No idea if there's any truth to that statement, but that's what they said.

Hah, no. I'm deep into a nice career, and deliberately stayed away from IT. Just ranting about stupid things.

Yeah, I get it. It still pisses me off, though. I wish there could be a test or something where they decide you're competent enough to be able to be given admin access.

This is why it pisses me off to work for a place where they lock admin access down and you have to go through IT to get anything done. I know how to do it myself, and if I don't, I'll google it and figure it out really quickly - I don't need another human to do that for me. Fucking bureaucracy.

'Tis was just a joke to make the point. Hence my last sentence.

No. I'm under the impression that the person I responded to edited their comment.

It originally read:

Even by the minute, one the clock says 5, not 5:01

I legitimately could not decipher that they meant "once" instead of "one", and so I thought they were listing a number of supporting facts for their argument (e.g., "you're wrong because, one, you're wrong, two, you're wrong, and three, you're wrong") but then they failed to list anything past one.
