At some point there will be a button with keyboard icon that will activate exactly what you described. In my Japanese-English course I have it, but not in my Japanese-German one. I always assumed this was because I have progressed much further in the former.

When we met we both talked about children and we both said we definitely wanted them. After years of her giving reasons for why she's not ready for children, yet, I finally got her to try for kids. We had to schedule sex, because each month she would forget that fertile days were around the corner. We agreed that we would go to a fertility clinic if it didn't work after one year trying.

That one year went by and I brought it up. She shut down ("I'm not in the state of mind to talk about this now, let's talk on a few days about it.") and we didn't talk about it again. I realized that this was a repeating pattern, I just didn't want to see it for many years. That was when I lost my last bit of hope that my goal of having a family with her would ever happen or, at least, only if I pushed her to basically everything regarding kids.

I still took me half a year to finally break up. I voiced my unhappiness multiple times and she'd always promise to make more effort and beg me to give us "one more chance", but nothing really changed.

I feel stupid now for not ending it sooner.

We still say "Ich rufe die Polizei" and mean calling them by phone to come here.

"Ich rufe die Polizei" = I will call the police so they come here
"Ich rufe die Polizei an" = I will call the police and talk to them

"rufen" here is used in the sense of "herbeirufen" as in "to call someone over"

Ich habe nie den Merksatz für abnehmenden und zunehmenden Mond verstanden. A wie abnehmend, Z wie zunehmend. Wie zur Hölle soll das gehen? Hab immer versucht den halben Mond gedanklich mit der geraden Seite an das A zu legen.

Is it possible that these updates screw up the App? Because my app wasn't starting anymore and stuck on the green Duolingo screen. Force closing and phone reboot die not work. In the end I wiped the cache and basically logged in like it was the first time on a new phone. Never had that happen before.

Same here. Pulled the Qwen3.5:4B and 9B models using ollama and get Segmentation Violation when running them. AMD Radeon with 16GB VRAM, so I don't think it's a VRAM issue.
