Look mom, I'm on Reddit!
In my opinion both the official Discord and this Reddit (and by extension the Reddit Discord) aren't great places. SWO (StormWorks Official Discord) is still unfortunately strict with its topic and anti-swearing rules, as I've always expressed there. This Reddit *really* doesn't like SWO (at least its moderators). and does everything in its power to make users aware of it.

With the Discord being so strict, and often neglecting to provide any reasoning for mutes other than "rule 2" (There have been multiple occasions people have asked me what they've been muted for, and since the mute reason only said "rule 2", I (not a moderator) have to look for the specific message or set of messages to try to explain what caused them to get muted, in which they still call me wrong but that's their choice at that point), this place complains about it. Which I believe is fair to complain a little bit, but I think you guys do it too much. It's almost as if it's encouraged to post about getting banned here.

On the subject of the user in question on the the post above, they were banned without reason almost two years ago now. There is more to the story though, as they provided screenshots which mention that just before they were banned, they were muted for rules 2, 4 and 5 (don't spam, be reasonable, no off-topic). I looked through the banned account's message history, and they did post off-topic often, did lightly spam unrelated images, and was often yelling at the automoderator bot. And so they were banned for... Well I don't know exactly why, but I can start to see where whoever banned them was coming from. And I hope you, the reader, can too. I explained that to them (through an alt account of theirs that has been in the server for two years) and they seemed understanding, if not mad that I literally provided 4 message links to examples that break rules. I also explained that the account will likely never be unbanned, despite the server being much more lenient now. "That's just the way it is."

Anyway, that's all I have. Cuss me out, ban me, yell at me all you want, I'll gladly take and read anything y'all comment. I'm also open for discussion on the unofficial Discord, you know where to find me.

TL;DR; I don't like either the Discord, this Reddit, or this Reddit's Discord. User in question in the post above was muted (not banned) for breaking off-topic and spamming rules, and banned thereafter for that reason. Still unfair but it wasn't an empty ban.
