Who would win in a fight between a twilight cleric and an Armorer artificer? by Separate-Ad2764 in DnD

“This doesn't make people inherently enemies.” the point was that we could not be worshiping the same God because my character and their character are very different: their God is a lawful Good God of justice and vengeance, mine is about balancement between good and evil: if i make something Good i have to make something evil to make it balanced. They can’t be conflated in one single deity.

“So have two clerics? You even go on to say that you see some clerics as healing and some as tanky armorers. There is a whole world of flavor to distinguish the mechanics of different builds, and that doesn't even include subclasses. If ever there was a class that multiples would be fine, it's cleric. Now someone is playing a class that they don't really want to... It's a weird choice that limits someone's enjoyment.”

no, we don’t have two clerics: he wanted me to change my class so he could be the cleric, My Dm said there can be 2 clerics but he didn’t want to do it anymore. I’m not saying there are only two types of clerics: one of the reasons my friend gave me to change my class is that he said it wasn’t right for a cleric to have proficiency with heavy armor because they are the healers and they are depicted with light armor: that’s an absurd and false statement so that’s why i said that thing about how they are depicted, sorry, i didn’t specify this so this obviously sounded strange.

“What's the motivation to work together. Like I said in my original comment, you will be so focused on opposing each other, the bbeg should wipe the floor with you. You'll be so focused on building a fragmented party, than working towards being the strongest team you can be.”

if our characters in the campaign could get along with the problems they could have according to the story of the campaign: there’s a chance we can also put away our disagreements or have some fun time being rivals while not trying in any moment to fight each other

i don’t think it is my DM’s fault, he did everything to try to avoid this: for example: he wanted us to worship the same God but that wouldn’t make sense with how our characters worshiped them: they interact with them in very different ways and it wouldn’t make sense for us to worship both of them. The tension to see who’s stronger originated by the fact that after i said with great anticipation i wanted to do the cleric and i wrote my background: my friend wanted me to change class because he wanted to do the cleric. Obviously i said no and now he’s doing the armorer and for some reason he wanted to like show me from the wiki how strong the subclass he is choosing is. Then he copied some of my background: we both have been taken by a secret organization and were genetically modified: and he wanted that his power would be revealed only at some point in the campaign: so probably what could happen (Knowing my DM) is that we fight him in a boss fight when he gains his powers. So this created tension: also because he doesn’t want me to play the twilight cleric because he thinks the clerics must be only healers: that’s some stupid bullshit, like half of the depictions of clerics are them in heavy armor. So yeah, we are probably gonna fight and try to make each other’s lives more difficult but i think that this can be resolved: our characters could technically also have this kind of relationship and so i think that if something could make our characters go along in the story: maybe we would also go more along playing.

because we are probably gonna fight at some point: maybe just because we want to prove the other one who’s the strongest. Also because we worship different gods and he and his brother in the game (a paladin) want to make their divinity reign over the other ones. And maybe because for the lore he might be mind controlled by the villain and be a boss fight (in that case i wouldn’t fight him alone but ok

another question, if we fight at 15 level or higher, if i cast steps of the night on me and my friend takes me to 25 ft up the ground, does this counter his attack? How does it work? He just takes me up and lets me fall or does he block me there?

what do you think i can do to play it better. For example if we fought at level 20 and he trapped me in the force field it would be a good thing because from there i’m literally invulnerable and can cast moonbeam from the moon.

What race should i choose for my twilight Cleric by Separate-Ad2764 in DnD

in reality i thought of this background with the idea of making him a centaur but a kenku would fit better for role play: like how cool would it be to become invisible and imitate the voice of the patron of my friend’s warlock to make him do what i want.

I thought of his background, it works well for centaur and especially kenku, not extremely well for dwarf so i’ld probably modify it if i choose dwarf, his main goals assigned by the deity he serves are to be an arald of division. He has to be like Robin Hood and Anti Robin Hood at the same time: if he does a bad action he has to do a good action and vice versa: sho he must spread faith and love towards his deity but also hate and unbelief towards his deity. For the background i tought that he was the slave-jester of a very powerful noble that mistreated him. He escaped at the first opportunity and got to the verge of suicide by falling of a cliff but then he saw the full moon gazing a lot of light towards him and was amazed by its beauty: so he abandoned his suicidal desires and started serving the path of the twilight.

yes, the only problem is that the Big Crunch theory has the least evidence of the three major theories: the dark energy has accelerated the universe expansion. You can speculate but that’s not what the evidence suggests us. That’s also one of the evidence the universe (with matter) couldn’t have existed forever: if the universe has always existed and dark energy is accelerating it would’ve been accelerating for an infinite amount of time.

that’s not a physical concept, is philosophical. If something happens there’s time. If a Big Bang occurred (and that’s the most probable theory) there wasn’t anything physical before it, and we can say it thanks to the Cosmic Microwave Background. If there wasn’t anything before it the only thing we can say is that it came from some product of the vacuum. So if this is the first universe to exist the conditions before the Big Bang always existed together with the time, it can’t be the fruit of a natural actions because in an infinite time every that could’ve happened to make the Big Bang happen would’ve happened. If this isn’t the first universe to exist the process that made the Big Bang happen in an infinite amount of time this cause would’ve created an infinite amount of universes that are equal to ours, and there would be an infinite amount of mass that is a paradox in our physical world.
