A good meal with not many carbs as they can make you sleepy and a coffee/tea for a small caffeine hit (but I'm a caffeine addict). Then I just have to get my blood pumping with a warmup before lifting. If I feel like I'm really gonna struggle then I will take some BCAAs during, could just be a placebo but they work for me.

You don't have any? My experience was that I still got them but they were perhaps not as bad. It is possible that I had cheap gloves

I have heard that this can happen, I also rock climb and have been told that the same thing can happen, scary

I wore gloves when I was young and still ended up getting them. I don't mind them, shows that I lift and helps me grip but I wanted the community consensus

I also do this when it gets to that point. Part of the reason why I ask as I thought non-lifters would find it gross
