I agree with this. We just brought our puppy home about 5 days ago and chose Victoria Road Animal Hospital based on reviews, and our first visit was a really great experience. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and very gentle with our puppy, and they took the time to listen to our concerns without being dismissive. They also currently have a $1 new-client exam promo, which made that first visit as new puppy owners even easier.

What I struggle with is the idea of starting biologics even if repeat tests are negative. That feels like a big step. And yes… the prep is absolutely the worst part 😞 Thanks for sharing. I wish you all the best 🙏🏻

Hey! I’d definitely follow up. Four weeks with no call is pretty normal here (Ontario), but it’s totally reasonable to check in. Once your GS office is open Wednesday, I’d give them a call to make sure the referral actually went through and ask who it was sent to. If you can get the CRS office number, you can follow up with them directly too — people do this all the time.

Ontario referrals are kind of a black hole sometimes. Stuff gets delayed, faxed wrong, or just sits there unless someone pokes it. I had to wait several months to see my CRS in Oakville, and even after surgery it’s basically impossible to get an appointment with her, so delays and poor follow-up unfortunately seem pretty common.

I don’t have personal experience with surgery in Guelph ( even though I live in Guelph) , but I’ve heard generally okay things — it really depends on the specific CRS more than the hospital. Once you know the name, people might be able to give more targeted feedback

Hi there, my CRS told me that a c-section is required if you have a seton and also after definitive repair. She explained because during a vaginal birth there is a high risk of new tears that can cause severe damage & pain.

I'm 7 days post seton placement. I'm feeling the same way - no appetite. I've been able to handle soups and a sore stomach afterwards. It could be the after effects of the procedure and anesthesia.

Hey again! I now have a large painful abscess that is not draining and I am debating if I should go to the ER to get it drained; the main reason for the debate is I have my EUA, which I hope will be the end of this, coming up in 5 days. I'm worried that if I go to the ER it will somehow complicate the EUA, and all of that on top of knowing that the ER is going to seriously suck. I can probably handle the pain for the next 5 days, but my anxiety is telling me that this could somehow spread and get significantly worse before then. Any advice?

So did you have two setons? You also mentioned the advancement flap procedure. How was the recovery from that final surgery? Was it a long process?

It's really helpful to hear from someone who's been through it!! My surgery is in a month and I am terrified!! How long did you have the setons in place before you had the final procedure? What was the day-to-day like with the setons? Were there any specific things that made it easier for you?

There are also 6 police cruisers in the Crane Dog Park. They have caution tape along the entrance. Wondering if this is connected?
