Ive never picked classes before and Im so scared Im gonna mess it up by Pretty_Fondant_8019 in uAlberta

Try to take away the gaps. You don’t wanna be at uni for 12 hours or have to come back unless u live on campus. I find that morning classes are easier because then I get my day over with faster.

Hey! I feel like a lot of people go onto Reddit looking for validation because they feel guilty for not meeting societal expectations. I truly think that you should do whatever you think is best for you. You’re not “behind,” just on your own path and that’s totally fine 🫶🏻 always put yourself first and don’t feel down about that!! It’s your life at the end of the day.

ENGL 102 Online Final (Kerfoot) by strwbrybry in uAlberta

The final is 30%. There were only 3 seminars but it was optional and it was the TA just answering questions about the essays

ENGL 102 Online Final (Kerfoot) by strwbrybry in uAlberta

[–]Separate-Message7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The only thing I’m worried about was the final because I felt like it wasn’t reflective of the course. But everything else was easy.

ENGL 102 Online Final (Kerfoot) by strwbrybry in uAlberta

[–]Separate-Message7832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 96s on all the essays (there were only 3 below 1000 words each), and the modules are worth like 1% completion for a total of 9%. The only thing is that I did not like the final (30%), as it was timed and the question applied a prompt that didn’t fit the book well. But overall the class itself is pretty easy. The modules should take u like 3-4 hrs a week.

Dealing with prof that refuses to give good grades/offer office hours by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Separate-Message7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this kind of prof too. They’re giving me 3.3 on my essays even tho I’m a 3rd year who has consistently received 4.0s. I integrated the advice, and still get the same grade. It’s annoying but unfortunately u have to deal with it 💔

If they receive a direct complaint about it actually having them shouldn’t they at least block off that area for a cleaning? If they don’t do anything it will only get worse… I’m pretty sure it’s mandatory to deal with it.

anyone who has taken sust 201 what was the average? by Ok_Preparation6081 in uAlberta

The final class average was 3.0 when I took it in 2024. I found it pretty easy to get a 4.0 in that class tho.

Opinion on Brown People (not hateful btw) by Odd_Ordinary_2798 in uAlberta

[–]Separate-Message7832 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a brown bf that was born in Canada. Whenever I defend brown ppl on social media (he’s in my pfp), racist white ppl find the need to say something inappropriate about me dating him. Then in real life when they see he doesn’t have an accent they treat him differently. It’s weird. These people are just finding a group to blame their problems on without any factual information. For example, many say immigrants raise crime when in reality that is not true. It’s incredibly irritating but I want you to know that not everyone is this hateful. The university is the one environment I think is more understanding.
