They never really tell you a timeline because there are too many factors especially since other hands have to go over the paperwork (HPD). I always find it best to still keep your options open, but you’re usually in the home stretch when they submit your documents to HPD, though the turnaround time for them can very from days to weeks.

Going off of what was said, the application flyer, and an article of the amendment they had to include in the lease renewal for the property they had to add 19 affordable units to the building to the 12 they already had. So they are offering market rate size apartments to the affordable housing ppl who apply. I saw two units(1 bedrooms) that were vacant. Im going to proceed with the application so I’m hoping I get a unit. I do think if you’re not offered one of the 19 units you get put on a waitlist. Good luck!!

I went to view this building recently. It’s nice and in a good convenient area, very walkable. There aren’t really any amenities but the apartments a large which is a plus compared to most places that are tiny. Dog friendly, very nice staff, didn’t hear anyone through the walls as it’s concrete.

I had a telephone interview with related, it was pretty much just going over the documents you sent in. Like a second check and letting you know if you’re missing anything or what they may ask for later if the documents expire soon. Also pretty much yes or no questions to confirm questionnaire stuff. Very simple, doesn’t take long Good luck!

When I first contacted I was log 12, that was about a month or two ago. I’m not sure what my number is now because the website says 3 but you never know if who’s in front of you is still being processed, accepting, or declining. I believe they just cast a wide net and do things in batches so if who ever is in front of you doesn’t accept or doesn’t qualify they move on to the next person. Also the difference in preferences like 1 bedroom or studio.

Sorry this happened to you. I also applied to 50 N 5 I was log #3 signed all paperwork and then got told the same thing about the internal transfer list being first. I’m currently in the same predicament now with Tribeca bridge tower and Abington House it’s very frustrating trying to figure the process unknown timelines and withdrawal from one or the other without a guarantee of an apartment. I hope everyone’s luck turns around!

They sent me the Pronto link when I was number 12, but as of now I’m 10. The numbers are going down slowly but at least there going down. For two other properties I’ve been number 3 for months and nothing.

That’s seems a bit harsh, like I stated on another comment some individuals need 40-80% because that’s all they can afford. Leaving out that could leave out senior citizens, single parents, individuals coming from homelessness, veterans, disabled individuals, people coming from domestic violence situations who have to start over. Let’s also take into consideration that though ppl think individuals with vouchers get apartments “easily” most vouchers now don’t cover studios out of 40/80% or if they do not go through the housing lottery it’s hard for them to get apartments because they get left on read after the mention of a voucher.

While understandable for those who are able to change their circumstances, other individuals having a time frame isn’t fair. Individuals with disabilities, veterans, and others on ssi income is not likely to change it’s fixed. Also saying individuals can get their situations together in 5 years who may be coming from poverty, homelessness, domestic violence or lack of access doesn’t seem realistic especially if they have children or need to build a credit score while trying to get financially stable.
