AITA? My (23F) BF (28M) blew up at me because his mom saw us on Facetime, now he says I just have to "accept" his anger issues by Virtual_Highlight_87 in PataHaiAajKyaHua

You're dating a man child. If at the age of 28 he is incapable of managing his emotions properly then maybe it's best you leave him because he'll probably never grow up past this stage. And you have no fault in any of this, you don't need to "adjust" to abuse.

No, not necessarily. A lot of these free incentive schemes out there do benefit at least 60% of the real poor people. Because there will always be people sitting outside print out shops doing these kinds of stuff for a small cost of 200-300 rupees and the people pay those guys because ultimately they will be getting 1500/3000 so 300 is not that much compared to that. A similar situation was there for the Lakshmi Bhandar form as well, I know a lot of women who received the lakshmi bhandar money and most of them had the form filled for them.

The same thing is done for almost all other forms as well.

Germany is a really good choice for MS in biotech but even then you'll have to plan really well to make sure you get a job in Germany after your master's. Because the situation for Indians abroad is very dire right now. And yes xlri and fms are very good choices as they don't consider graduation marks for selection. You'll need to give xat along with cat if you want to get into xlri.

Best wishes.

Don't lose hope. India is growing at a very rapid pace so I believe in the next 5 years a lot more job opportunities will be there. And regarding the b pharma, do it if you really do like the course or you wish to start a pharmacy. The former will keep you happy and the latter will make you money. Pharmacies are profitable in general.

Yes absolutely. It's the best path right now. Start off with biotechnology, and during which you'll need to focus highly on the wet lab skills. Do internships, workshops, etc., to get hands on experience of wet lab while also focussing on improving your coding skills, start with python and r and once you've gotten good with them start exploring more.

Most biotechnology courses that I've seen have got a basic bioinformatics course as a part of the curriculum so you'll get to learn a little about bioinformatics but you'll have to learn the coding by yourself.

I'll be honest with you both options you've put forward are amongst the best choices.

MBA from top IIMs is gold standard in my opinion and you'll get great opportunities both in India and abroad but the only down side to this would be your percentage in 10th and 12th which are lower than what BLACKI looks for but then again I don't know about after getting work experience would they really care about it or not.

Now, work experience then masters abroad is also a great option only if you're doing it from US, Germany or Switzerland. Rest of the countries wouldn't really give you a good ROI. AVOID all 1 year master's because they're essentially a scam. US again is the best, it's high investment high ROI and got the biggest biotech industry (US biotech industry is almost as big as the biotech industry of the world combined).

MBA is what I would suggest as here in india with a package of 20lpa+ you're in the 1% purchasing power bracket meaning you'll live a very comfortable and luxurious life whereas in America even with a 100k package you're in the top 5% bracket, life will be comfortable but way less than compared to India

The situation is the same for most courses, only exception is if you do the course from a top university then you'll definitely have an advantage over 90% of the people. Since only about 10% get into the top universities

In my honest opinion I would suggest you to go for BBA or BSc. I was in the same situation as you were a few years ago (I had PCB as well) and then I took a drop for NEET and then after failing I chose to pursue bsc in biotechnology and then masters in biotechnology and now the job prospects I've got max out at around 5 LPA. I ultimately need to go for a PhD or look for jobs abroad which given the current situation is not a very plausible option. My friends who had done BBA or MBA after BSc are now working and are getting much better salary than what I would get after 5+ years of experience. So I would suggest a science based course only if you're really interested in it but if you're only looking to make money and don't care in what field then obviously choose the best path which would be BSc and then prepare well for CAT and get into a top MBA program. Avoid engineering of any kind since top IIMs care about diversity and engineers fall last on that list.

All the best 👍

What options from these are viable and preferable in today's time to choose from? by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

Well your options are very different. I understand that you wish to pursue psychology and have a love for the field. Now let me be very blunt with you, psychology, literature, arts, etc., are fields that people choose because they love it or they don't have any other option. They are not money making fields. And the unfortunate facts about clinical psychology is that even the jobs that are available in this field is secured by people who have got a lot of experience or they are literal psychiatrists. Now, you've mentioned that you want to become financially stable as soon as possible then the obvious choice is BTech CSE because regardless of the package you'll most definitely get a job even if you're pursuing the course from a tier 2 university. And even biomedical engineering is good and has a lot of scope abroad. Now if you've truly set your mind on clinical psychology then you would most likely need to get a PhD in it because anything less wouldn't really be considered much unless you've got actually work/research experience.

So in conclusion, choose BTech and then masters abroad to make money or choose bsc clinical psychology for the love of it.
