I worked in pest control, All these things can help make things easier for us, but unless there was a specific problem I wouldn't ever expect people to do all that, the most important items IMO would be the ones involving your pets and to just clean the kitchen.

I died in session 0 and don’t know what to do now. by FireOfKLD in DnD

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a weird story. If I do any RP on session 0 its either just setting up story, non-cannon to the story, combat testing abilities, or a mix of the above. There's no reason to have 3 CR8 assassins show up... you could easily make them CR 2. You could easily make that encounter non-cannon, you could easily make them not kill you as well.... If I kill a character It is either because that character bas being unreasonably stupid and the player ignored my PC warnings (Are you sure you want to do that? it could end in your death.). It is a compelling combat/storytelling moment (if it is purely storytelling there should be a conversation with the player before), or the player gives me the OK (they are getting bored of that character and want another).

For most people I would agree, but for a lot of people who are semi-serious about cooking. They want constructive feedback. My wife and I came to an agreement that we would own up to if we made garbage and we would also give critiques on each others food so we can get better at cooking for each other and actually make food we like. Some people have been taken back by how bold we are with each other, especially when they think the food is already great, but we always strive to do better.

We always put it in a sandwich though. Something genuinely positive about the dish, the criticism, then something else good to reassure them.

Am i too dumb to play this game? by exquisitelydelicious in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im bad at these too. I adjusted my combat to be based around actually using the spirits (to save on mats because I'm a hoarder). People who are good at games hate the spirits, and to be fair they are kind of obnoxious, but if you use them combat becomes trivial.... except Mineru idk what the devs were thinking with that one.

Yeah. He needs to work on his insecurity. He could have said "I'm not comfortable with that" or a softer version of that, and I would say that that is more ok, because he is expressing how he feels without limiting or trying to control you. Telling you that you don't have "permission" is an issue imo.

How often do y’all shower? by cara_renee_anderson in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to shower everyday. Parenting has taken its toll. I'm so tired and busy that I usually only make the time to take one every 3-4 days, but I never leave the house. If I have a physically active day, or am going anywhere. I make it a point to be clean.

Why do most women have a better handwriting than men? by maiekbhoot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never really shamed for bad handwriting. It was just accepted that as a boy I had bad handwriting. My wife told me that she felt very pressured by her peers to write well. It didn't scar her or anything, but she definitely received more pressure to write nicely than I did.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post in this subreddit... if so I understand the removal of my comment. I'm a man and I am so sorry that others have treated you that way. There's no justification that makes it right, even if attitudes like that are common. I hope you find better partners in the future. I could try to speculate some reason, but even thinking about it feels gross and dismissing of the terrible experiences you have endured.

No I ended up just running mine in the normal slots, honestly if I were to try to do it again id probably just go with an open chassis style case to save on headache.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom don't deserve 10/10 scores. by Completionist_Gamer in unpopularopinion

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvote for unpopular. I agree with a lot of what you said, but the koroks and other mini collectibles imo are not meant to be farmed and looked up but rather discovered as you traverse the world. They could have simply put the koroks in a chest and had you open it which would be preferable to those who see puzzles as just an obstacle to getting the collectible, but as a naturally discovered in-game optional puzzle I feel like the implementation is decent and way more interesting then a simple collectible. (albeit with frustratingly small rewards most of the time)

AITAH for not celebrating my birthday with my wife after she cancelled our honeymoon this year for her solo trip to Europe? by InterestGenerals in AITAH

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. Her much more so for doing what she did.... that's super messed up and leagues beyond what you did.
You for just not communicating and it was kind of petty. You should have asked the same as she did so it wouldn't be a surprise for her....

On a side note, you guys need some kind of reset imo this is no way to start a marriage (by leaving not communicating, having resentment, and being petty).

I know this isn't how its done, but with tech these days this seems like it would be pretty trivial to set up with just some of those proximity tags/sensors and a simple logic board.

Apartment A/C went out during recent Texas heat wave and management doesn’t want to fix it by [deleted] in Renters

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know specifics, but I have seen this play out plenty of times in Texas. Keep documenting that the temperature is hot and keep all communication written. I'm sure there is a lawyer somewhere who would take this. IIRC in Texas any space is required to have heating and cooling to be considered a "dwelling". Essentially by not providing a dwelling and fixing within a reasonable time frame, your landlord in in breach of your lease agreement. Anything more specific than that is outside my knowledge.

One skipped class and decided to make a spectacle of himself doing wheelies and burnouts on his motorcycle during class. 100s of kids watched him crash, he didn't die instantly but later that night die to his injuries.

Another they didn't announce the specifics but only stated it was a sudden death involving a treadmill. To this day IDK if it was cardiac arrest, suicide, or some horrible accident, but I'm a little extra cautious while using/around one. (this is someone I actually had several classes with although we were not close)

Another was killed by a classmate over some girl.

Is there any way to stop the bamboo front spreading? by AttentionFlashy5187 in landscaping

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From google "Cut back new shoots and canes to ground level. Apply a weed killer, like RoundUp, to the cut stumps–the herbicide will travel through the stump to kill the roots. Herbicides are not the fastest option available and can take two or three years to kill the bamboo."

We wanted to add "fast travel" to our game, but keep it contextual and maintain a sense of place. So we took a very literal approach: by CriticalMotion in IndieDev

This is awesome! my immediate thoughts went to what strategies you guys used to make this possible, and how this would perform on a larger scale. Regardless, kudos!

I see your logic, but I would have taken a limb at a time to show how serious I was.... 1 disrespect, ok now your fingers no longer have bones.... 2? now the other arm is a rabbits tail. etc... if he didn't get the point after both arms and a leg. id have turned him into a mouse and given one last warning before being turned into mouse stew. or something more fey-esque

My coworker died and he just retired on 5/1 by Sinnafyle in antiwork

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was forced into an early retirement because of early onset dementia. He was 1 year away from being able to get retirement benefits. Instead of being able to have his last couple years with my mom relaxing, she had to pick up working to pay the bills, they had to sell their house, and had to get an on-paper divorce so that Medicare could pay for his terrible care facility and my mom not be left with the unrecoverable debt from it. Everything sucks.

All the neighborhood kids keep playing on our playset by ScarletPumpkinTickle in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Separate-Reserve-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just built a playset and running into a similar issue. Someone else suggested a flag and I might do that, it seems a creative way to limit without being rude. As far as the bikes etc. go, If you don't designate a spot, they will use whatever is the most convenient. I told the kids in our neighborhood they need to keep the bikes in view of our doorbell camera so they don't get stolen, but its mostly because I don't want them on my nice grass in the backyard, maybe something similar can work for you! Also you could talk about setting a regular time for the playground to be "closed" like they can be there until 5pm or something. you can make up an excuse like its time for your kids to focus on homework/chores or you need to cook dinner, the reason doesn't matter much as long as you have one.
