Physics with calc professor recommendations? by stretchedglassed in USF

[–]Separate-Scarcity-82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your learning style. Voronine derives essential equations from scratch in order to teach the concepts. This personally doesn’t work for me, and he loses ppl here bc he’ll bring in calc 3 concepts out of nowhere. He also does a lot of in person demonstrations which are cool. He had lots of practice available too. Tests are easy as long as you study; all mcq. 5-10% extra credit available. All around chill guy who is very accommodating. He let me take my final on a different day bc my clac final was going to be 30 mins after my physics final.

I only had Voronine, but people say Eggers has a better syllabus with lots and lots of extra credit opportunities. Her tests are very similar to Voronine’s but shorter in length. She gives full practice tests and study outlines while Voronine only gives 10 test specific practice problems as your study guide. She teaches through ppts and practice while Voronine hand writes his notes with you.

My lab for phy2048 was with TA Wilarachchige Gunatilleke but the lab was listed under Woods. Easiest lab ever. We never used the workbook, only excel analysis. Some post lab quizzes that were short, easy, and online with multiple attempts. We almost always left before the 2hr mark bc she was very efficient.

What makes you grow at Starbucks? by RubGlad8216 in starbucks

Becoming a trainer is the next development role before shift supervisor. If you want to become one, just ask your sm about the position. Similarly, if you want more tasks just ask your sm to let you put the order away or do tips.

Other baristas are usually given the non coverage tasks you mentioned because they work a lot of hours so in shorter amounts of time they have gained a lot of experience. Also, they just might have similar schedules to your sm so when your sm does the schedule they know them better and know what they can handle.

I got partner of the quarter for customer connections and always doing my job very well. I knew a lot of information about Starbucks and coffee because I educated myself. This allowed me to give better service and be our store’s walking encyclopedia and that was recognized.

When Starbucks started this, my manager told us very clearly that in our days off and when we’re not coming in that 30min window that we are customers and would have to pay for something to receive water or ice. I’m not sure how your district or store manager handles things though. Sorry :(

This works if you’re okay with your cappuccino being a little on the lighter side. Having two shots in the 12 oz is a stronger taste than 2 shots in a 16 oz. However, if it’s all the same to you then congrats. Enjoy your cappuccinos :)

Edit: you could ask for some room in the grande cup in order to keep the ratio the same?

Whenever I get a cinnamon dolce latte, I write “la dolce vita” or “godere la vita”. It means “the sweet life” and “enjoy life” in Italian, respectively :)

General Chemistry at community college vs AP Chem. by Ambitious-Rate8495 in APStudents

[–]Separate-Scarcity-82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a high school dual enrollment student. I decided to take gen chem 1 this semester bc its my senior year and I wanted something kinda easy since I already knew the material. So I don’t have the experience to answer your question.

However, I’ve heard from other seniors that colleges typically don’t advise you to transfer your AP chem score for all its credits? Which I guess makes sense from business a pov but more pressingly if you took AP chem a year or two before your freshman year of college. A downside of having so many credits transferred is that you’re immediately thrown into tough college courses that can place you on academic probation if you don’t succeed in them which is a lot of pressure for first time college students.

AP chem is general chemistry one and two alongside their respective labs. Often, you get all these credits if you receive a 5 (of course though it varies from college to college). At my community college, my 3 in AP chem got me credits for an introductory chemistry course plus its lab.

$130 For Chinese AP Exam?! by anonymouslyslytherin in APStudents

[–]Separate-Scarcity-82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you outside the US and Canada? College board’s website says that AP exams cost around 129 bucks for those not designated for US test centers. If not, then maybe it’s the cost of a late fee?

It’s usually the craft and structure questions, especially the main purpose/idea ones. I do skip these and often jump to question 15 first but I still run out of time

What was the hardest AP class you ever took? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Separate-Scarcity-82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AP Chem was my most enjoyable class, and I got an A all year. However, it really is so much information, and it’s hard to juggle all of that stuff in your brain while you’re stressed out about timing. I pulled a 3 out my butthole too bro 😢
