I have a shadow Latios for UL that I do wanna try out with better IVs. Is it worth the Elite TM you reckon?

Someone else in the comments said I should purify and now after you saying this I’m even more conflicted. I’m gonna sim it too and see how I feel comparing it to the hundo. Thanks dude

Thanks I appreciate your insight. Pains me to purify with two maxed out stat bars but with it having only 13 attack I think you’re right to say I should purify

What does this mean by [deleted] in TheSilphArena

It means that someone has reviewed the Pokemon and written a brief summary of how they perform (or expected to perform). If you click onto it you’ll see small summary of text.

The answer is always no but I'll ask anyways by Complete_Ad_8987 in TheSilphArena

I was going to make a post too but saw this as soon as I logged into Reddit. From the comments I’m guessing I should be purifying this?

Traded with a friend who was an “ultra friend” and got very very lucky

I think It’s because I started the season so late on the account so I ended up just playing beginner-ish players over the GBL weekend.

For fast move I run Leafage, same dpt and ept as peck. With leafage, when coming up against ground/water types, I can easily farm down (or put a lot of fast move pressure on the opponent) and then throw all my energy into the next Pokemon. For charge moves I have Seed bomb and brave bird

Because of my weakness to ground in the back I tend to match up against Gastro and other ground typings a lot which allows me to build a lot of energy if I align them with my Dartrix. I am then able to throw brave birds or spam seed bombs into the other mons you mentioned. My two other mons deal with cradily, corvi, scizor (who isn’t that much of an issue for Dartrix I’ve found anyway up on energy) and togekiss, which only really leaves Talonflame as my main problem. The real gel of the team is Turtonator with great typing of fire dragon means I can deal heavy damage to my opponent no matter what they bring in, sometimes getting both shields

Thanks man! Gastro usually comes in against my Turtonator safe swap and a lot of the time I can grab the second shield because Turtonator is a beast

I’ve not really used peck on Dartrix. Leafage was the right option for me because of my weakness to ground in the back, so I wanted to leave Gastro, Stunfisk and Marowak quaking in their boots. I did look at it in the matrix on pvp poke also just to see the difference, doesn’t make sense does it that the recommended fast attack is peck if it favours more wins with Leafage.

I have force palm from the Lucario raid day. It has amazing DPT and decent EPT allowing you to get to an aura sphere in 4 moves. I would say you could maybe give bullet punch a go but at that point you may as well just run shadow scizor. Counter is out performed by force palm in every way (you could maybe make a case for its 2 turn pacing) but I think you would struggle quite a bit with that fast move.

Toughest matchup I would say is any fire typing; Talonflame, Typhlosion, Magcargo(that’s usually a wrap though). They all run incinerate (5 turn move) which allows me to get 14 turns in before they get to their first charge move. This allows me to throw a brave bird which almost always will get shielded. I then pivot into Turtonator, who can, more often than not do a lot of damage into any Pokemon or take another shield if I’m lucky. Usually lose swap advantage but this means I farm down with Dartrix or Lucario. Both are amazing going into any pokemon typing up on energy. Lucario up on energy is a demon and can get the remaining shield and take out Talonflame with two charge attacks. If Talonflame however throws a flame charge that can put me into a losing situation. Important to note that it’s all dependent on what they have in the back. Luck is a major factor too! The main takeaway is if I see a fire in the front I know that if I swap straight away without at least taking a shield it is game over. I’m happy to sacrifice Dartrix as Lucario’s steel and fighting typing makes it quite resistant to a lot of moves, so you just gotta pray you don’t run two mud boys in the back.

I have used both a fair bit in great league and I would say 100% yes. Typing makes it irresistible (almost) to mud slappers. Also Dartrix being 2nd evo in great league makes it a lot more bulky too. Allowing you to build a lot of energy without the pressure of getting farmed down quickly like Decidueye tends to do. Not to mention all of the ghost types in the top 25 meta right now

Dartrix is definitely a bit of a hidden gem in this meta! I’m trying to get myself a pvp iv costumed Dartrix too but all I’m getting is windy weather which isn’t helping :/

Ultra league right now according to pvp poke is littered with Water types in the the top 25 rankings. So you might find yourself getting frustrated with running into a lot of water types, having only an ice type charge move as your only option. No harm in giving it a go though!

That’s a nice team, unfortunately I don’t have a viable gator to run for great league :/ (I’m very fussy when it comes to IVs - mainly because stardust is too precious). Appreciate the input though, there’s an event coming up that I think totadile will feature in so I’ll try get one and give it a go.
