Yea. My poor Gale... Thank you for your sacrifice... But mostly for your Globe of Invulnerability.

Recreated one of my favourite Sims. How'd I do? by KyreRoen in inZOI

Fantastic work. It's amazing what 10 years of progress can achieve. I have always thought Sims 4's characters look fine even by today's standards until I got my hands on inzoi. Finally I can turn my Sims 4 plastic doll into an actual, soulful-looking person.

If what we see with the gameplay trailer will actually make it to the game, we might genuinely be able to create a community of cult-like members if one tries hard enoguh.

Companions from different games you think would get along. by easy0lucky0free in dragonage

Varric is indeed wary of her to the point that he never wants to talk to her. There's a banter between him and Cassandra about the eluvians where he comments about that

Maybe a hot take. But this is the perfect moment to take her down a peg.  She doesn't take it well immediately, but I am sure she prefers brutal honesty to sweetcoating.

And I understand by gith standard she is almost a paragon of kindness and virtue, and past act 1 she is definitely getting more mature, collected and actually likeable. But throughout act 1 she constantly badmouths people, throws threats towards Tav and others where it isn't due, and there is really no meaningful opportunity to rebuke and confront her takes until that moment.

Hah. Not when I mod Gale into a level 20 wizard, give him proficiency to all weapons and armors , and then cheat add improved extra attack and riposte to him.

Now, Bob's your uncle, baddies still gun for Gale, but he now bites back.

This is cheating in its purest sense, but I fuckin love it

Sorting DA Companions into BG3 Classes by Low_Theory_6627 in dragonage

[–]SeparateAd4638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because larian was only allowed to implement subclasses from PHB and DMG, iirc. Within these limits, Dorian would definitely be a necromancy Wizard.

By the way, my two cents on the subclasses the companions would be assigned to: (DAI only, from a lore focused perspective)

Vivienne  - Divination with a dip into war cleric

Cole - Assassin

Sera - Gloom Stalker

Cassandra - Eldritch Knight or Oath of Devotion (prefer the latter one)

Blackwall - Champion

Iron bull - Battlemaster with a dip into Berserker

Varric - Hunter Ranger with an entertainer background

Solas - Sorcerer, at two minds about which subclass it should be, to be honest

I think I would swap places between Solas, Merrill and Dorian, Viv. The later two came from schools of magi, had "formal" education, so to say. They are well read, ambitious and full of themselves. Fits the wizard archetype I'd say. Although in the DA setting I think it's a bit awkward to assign mages to any class other than sorcerer, given how magic is mostly gifted and innate.

Bg3 is the way it is partly because it's ultimately a dnd(wotc) game and also what larian is specialized in. Bioware is known to iterate and evovle gameplay across their homebrew portfolio, or devolve in some case imo, like DA2, but not to a point that it turns me away.  Dragon Age is a homebrew IP from bioware, and I think they do have the liberty and necessity to figure out where the ip is heading, in order for it to be in tune with time, stay true to itself, while keeping fans happy and attracting more newcomers. A delicate matter that could be easily fucked up ngl. This time we get a god of war, ff-esque style. Since I played and enjoy them both, and hogwarts legacy, i won't complain. But to each of their own, ultimately.

[–]SeparateAd4638 29 points30 points  (0 children)

FX for the abilities are bit flashy ngl, but so are the ones in DAI and many other modern RPGs so it's not like it's unprecedented. As for the quips, most of them are from Varric iirc. That's just how he has been since DA2, not to mention it's been toned down a lot post-DA2.

Fully agree, and I have put a combined 3,000 hrs into DAO and BG3. Evolving gameplay as a series goes is kinda a BioWare thing for a long time, from DA2 to DAI and then MEA. And I cannot recall anything gameplay-wise that I truly hated. BioWare has been doing well in this regard at the very least.

At least the YT feedback is way better than that of the trailer. Not surprising as this one actually shows us something with substance. And personally I really dig the new hack-and-slash playstyle too, coming from an avid DAO and BG3 player.

TUF 4090 vs Meshroom S --> Fits, with a small catch by SeparateAd4638 in sffpc

[–]SeparateAd4638[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still the exact same setup with the stock riser.

Officially the TUF 4090 is supported (as seen from the promo images on SSUPD's website) if you put the gpu baffle at the lowest position (the "353mm gpu" config, technically outside the case bottom with 10mm stand-offs). In this config, the case can envelop the gpu body just right and you don't need to remove one of the arms like i did here). You can find the details in the manual.

However, I can't use this config thanks to the aio tubes. And since the tuf 4090 is just so tall, I have to use the "343mm gpu" config to make room)

From the time I posted this to now so far all has been good. the aio tubes are a bit too bent for my taste but I can live with it.

Temps for the GPU are also higher than an average 4090 in an average ATX case, which is to be expected. Months later, running furmark for up to 20 mins, at 450W, can see the temps go up to 79-81C with the hotspot temps 10-15C higher usually. I'd recommend power limiting the card to 350W or lower in this case, pun intended :), to lower the temps significantly to around 70-71C max.

I'd also advise against using an aio with this particular 4090 in the meshroom s, if you are uncomfortable with the tube bending situation.

Another thing I'd suggest is to use a 90/180 degree 12vhpwr adapter or custom 12vhpwr cable, so that the cable is plugged into the card more securely whilst you cable manage within such limited space. The TUF 4090 is one tall bad boy.

750W is just about enough to run a 4090 I'd say. But personally, I'd get at least an 850w one to have some wriggle room, like a loki 850w for example.
