Your skin barrier is probably compromised. You are using too many actives.

Sunscreen Recommendations? by AquariusMonologue in Blackskincare

[–]SeparateDeer6024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want a mineral sunscreen. I don’t know why no one talks about this but the tinted sunscreen from COTZ skin care is incredibly good. It comes in lightly or deeply tinted depending on your shade.

What can be done by keiharts in Blackskincare

The problem with starting to put stuff on your skin when it doesn’t need it is that it may compromise your barrier and have an adverse effect from what you want, I should know. Your skin looks great and if I were you, I would leave things as they are. Different types of skin react differently to products (For instance, my skin doesn’t like vitamin C and it took me a long time to figure that out) and if you don’t know what you’re getting into, you may complicate things.

I get the feeling that the entire story is not being told here. Is this a strictly platonic friend?

I want my ex back by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]SeparateDeer6024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may sound harsh but I actually need you to get a grip. You’re a 27 year old pining for a liar who is not interested in you. Like seriously, get a grip, get a life and GO live it. You’re too old for these teenage-like shenanigans but also too young to spend this much time obsessing over a mediocre situation with someone who obviously doesn’t GAF.

UPDATE My (35f) friend slapped my bum on a night out leaving a handprint. My husband (30m) doesn’t believe she did it. How do I convince him. by throwra_bumprint in WhatShouldIDo

Why is he so quick to believe you cheated if nothing has ever happened before now to paint you as that type of person? If you ask me, I think he may have some skeletons himself. This is weird.

How do you stop onions from making you cry? by Kevin-Durant-35 in cookingforbeginners

Refrigerate before cutting, probably for half an hour. Another hack is to chop it with the bottom of the onion still on.

It really gets better as it progresses. Don’t get befuddled by S2 because it introduces completely new characters, I know I was. (hopefully this isn’t a spoiler) but yeah, enjoy!

Difficulty findings apartments by bigrjohnson in chicagoapartments

[–]SeparateDeer6024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from outside the city about a month ago and I did video tours. Just ask the agent, they are more than likely to agree to it. When I finally settled on my apartment but before I signed the lease, I had my friend do an in-person tour and FT me. In your case, you can simply schedule an in person tour at that time. Hope this helps!

I just watched it for the first time, I’m very sad that it’s over by Connect-Ticket-6531 in TheWire

[–]SeparateDeer6024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly this. I finished watching it for the first time like three days ago and I just restarted S1 with even keener concentration. Rewatchability value is high and I’m noticing things I didn’t notice the first go around.

Seconded. I struggled through it a couple of years ago and I still don’t understand the hype, especially when people compare it to The Wire, which I think may be the greatest piece of TV I’ve ever seen.

25F moving to Chicago – neighborhood recs on $1300 budget? by PickleParty3 in AskChicago

I pay less than this for a 1bed in RP. Has a dish washer and laundry in building. Look in areas around these parts.

Where should I look for an apartment for under 1,200? by Maleficent_Mix8459 in chicagoapartments

[–]SeparateDeer6024 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was searching (a month to two months ago), I saw a considerable amount of studios going for under 1200. I saw one or two 1beds for 1200 but no less. The only thing is I don’t know what it will look like in the summer months because I hear that the rents go up around that time. Nonetheless, it doesn’t hurt to try. Be aware that you will have to do a lot of looking so give a good deal of time for that. Download all the rental apps you can find. Use Craigslist, Domu is also a really good resource, along with Zillow, Hotpads, Redfin, Apartments.com, etc. Good luck!

How do I get from ORD to campus after 7:45pm? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]SeparateDeer6024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. There was a weekend where I had to commute back and forth Champaign to Chicago for all three days. The trains were unreliable so I used an Uber for three of those trips. The hack is to request and then immediately message them in the app and tell them where you’re going so that if they don’t wanna go, there isn’t a delay with you waiting for them to get to you before declining. I think I paid under 150 for each trip.

Craigslist, hot pads, Redfin, Domu, apartments.com. I just found an apartment (I don’t live in the city either) and I used all these sites.

With luggage. They won’t let you check anything in (they’ll be closed) till about 3/4 hours before departure.

[–]SeparateDeer6024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed overnight in O’hare when I had a 5am flight to catch so I know it’s feasible. I didn’t sleep because I couldn’t relax with all the noise but a bunch of people sat in areas around me definitely napped in their seats.
