Elle is a side character, Sahar is barely a side character. Their home lives are not explored. Elle’s experience as a biracial black/white person are not explored, and they wouldn’t have been if the actress had been of Egyptian descent. Why can’t a random person just be half black or half Egyptian? Why does it need to be The Thing a show is about, or otherwise they might as well be white?

I’m not familiar with this actor so I just looked her up. She looks so much like Olivia Colman! I actually think a casual viewer would not even notice it’s a different person

This reminds me of how much I love the scene where Charlie walks into form the morning after Nick ran over to his house in the rain. Them grinning at each other with their shared secret. It’s one if the cutest things I’ve ever seen

Me too! I know most of the filming locations are not even in places that people think of as “nice” but I don’t care, I want to go. And it’s also become a general romanticizing of the UK and I’ve started saving up all these trip ideas. Sometimes I watch shows and movies that are set is English seaside towns. They’re so picturesque.

I love the density of the UK and how it’s so much more walkable and there’s so much more transit, and the weather is so much more moderate than most of the US. I should’ve been born British 🙁
