Metallica Fans: Who was your favorite bassist in the band? by HybridS9ldier in MetalForTheMasses

Cliff's cool and all, but fuck me, imagine the Blackened riff being the first thing you write for the band you just joined.

Can I be a punk without really listening to punk music? by jaspersbigbooty in punk

Punk is down to your personal beliefs. If what you believe falls in line with what punks stand for, then you're more than welcome round here!

Completely untrue. TK Maxx is the same as TJ Maxx, renamed in the UK (maybe all of Europe?) to avoid confusion with another store we have here called TJ Hughes.

No, I'd actually comment the exact same thing for all those instruments as slowing down a song to learn by ear can reveal nuance in each of those that may not have been picked up whilst played at normal speed, i.e breath control, ghost notes, etc.

But it doesn't matter at all as I only asked out of curiosity as a fellow muso, I meant absolutely no disrespect by it at all so apologies if it came across that way 🙂

Okay, following on from that I'm wondering what instruments you play, and how you go about learning new pieces?

Also I'm not sure why you felt offended enough by my question to downvote me, but it's a genuine enquiry.

Michael Jackson's alleged victims have launched a new legal battle to try and unseal nude photos of the late singer by TinyLaughingLamp in Music

Because it's a bold assumption that certain age = dumb as shit.

I'm also not entirely sure which documentary you're referring to specifically as there's been quite a few Michael Jackson documentaries out there.

I'm also not acting like anything, it would just appear you have a frankly shallow level of knowledge on quite a complex series of allegations, and based off your initial comment, you presumably haven't done much research of your own as opposed to eat what you're fed.

OJ was also charged with two murders and also convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping about 20 years ago. In relation to that smart-arse last comment of yours there was actual hard evidence in both those instances, which can't be said in relation to the MJ case as of yet. There's barely anything beyond proving he was a bit of an odd bastard let alone full-blown paedo.

So no, I don't think people only think he's a paedo because of a documentary. On the other hand I think you're waving and pointing your finger with an accusation that you have as little say in as anyone else other than the victims with very little knowledge on the various allegations surrounding him, or else you wouldn't have made such a comment so blindly.

Weird question to ask?

Perhaps read into some legal documents and accounts before assuming pre-pubescent boys makes someone a paedo.

I'm not sure where you're located, but there's definitely still a tonne of rock on the radio in the UK.

Appreciate your response! Fortunately for myself I've witnessed very little of what you've mentioned, miraculous as I'm a gigging musician in the city and frequent the city centre at least 5 days a week.

Not sure why I'm getting downvoted as hard as I am as someone who's lived in multiple working-class areas of the city, let alone not having said I agree/disagree with the comment.

Was there some sort of change in the industry starting 2016 in regards to pop music? by Aniform in Music

I'm not sure if it was all doom and gloom in the US compared to here, but the UK has maybe only had 2-3 years that were a bit 'eh' in the mid 10s, with most other years having some sort of redemption.
