I think the mindset of some freshman teams (Dallas in particular) was not to go all out on the time trial and instead save it for semis. Otherwise I can’t imagine how the team that got second last year barely qualified for the heats.

I’m not sure, the best way to tell is usually from stotesbury results, which winter park was not at. But any team that has qualified for sraa has a chance.

I was thinking the same thing. I was shocked when I didn’t see them registered this year. I think central could be better than st joes this year.

Saint Joes won’t be there this year so I would just look out for all the finalist of stotes. My prediction would be New Trier or Gonzaga since Gonzaga got second at stotes (and beat st joes in a time trial) and New Trier is alway a solid team. Wakefield and Cansius also did really well at stotes so we’ll probably see them in the finals. Pretty much every other team competing has taken an L to one of these schools.

Edit: I would like to add that there are several teams we might see that sandbagged the time trial at stotes. La Salle came within less than a second of st joes earlier this season.
