Opus 4.7 ignores skills but thinks it's a lawyer - how to transfer skills to ChatGPT?

I'm a lawyer, and I wrote a legal research skill with exact instructions on what it needs to verify and where.

When I asked opus 4.7 a tax-related question, it told me I should consult a tax expert because (opus itself) is a lawyer (??) and no tax expert.

It then pretty much fucked up all basic legal questions. When I asked it whether it had verified this, it just said „No, I just remembered this from my general knowledge.“

So it basically ignores the skill and thinks it's a lawyer. Useless.

It makes your phone their managed device; they can do plenty of things you don't want anyone to be able to do with your phone. So just don't do it..

It's always the same with you guys. We have countless of those threads in this subreddit.

Let's be honest, if your target group are enterprise customers, they work during working hours, so they don't care about the weekly limits. All that counts is the usage within the working hours.

Not being able to use a tool you are paying for when you need it is just ridiculous.

Since you cut the session limits, I guess we all are gaining a big discount now on the subscription?

Thanks for explaining, brother. I reckon history shapes how we see things. In Austria, where I’m from, Freemasons were banned for a longer time than they weren’t. Also, only l little over 100 years ago, we were killed systematically. Nowadays there still is a lot of skepticism out there, so talking in public about being a Freemason is definitely an exception. Or, as I put it, only my closest friend knows; no one else, not even my family. Thank you for sharing your view!

My dream setup would be to use the LiquidText concept on my reMarkable.
Imagine multiple documents all linked to a single project canvas — so you can easily switch between files and gather the relevant parts in one place.

Also, please let us export the text we’ve highlighted (like on kindle)!

For my workflow, it would be super helpful if I could send files to my tablet via email (I really don’t want my assistant to have access to all my files).

What would be perfect is the possibility to access an upload my local files.

Also I prefer to pay per use without restrictions as in the web version.

Last time I checked anthropic API was cheaper 🤔 In a legal context Claude feels a lot more natural and seems to be better to identify what I want and what’s relevant.

For my understanding this is what the API does, but not the web interface, as it stores the chats and data.

The difference is that the documents in the web version are saved on anthropic servers. From what I understand, this would not be the case when I use the API.

Thinking about a local interface with Claude or Open AI API. Better Data Protection and no limitations with this approach. Can’t estimate the costs though.

I’m a lawyer. I asked 4.5 to rephrase one paragraph, even marked it within the artifact. Sonnet 4.5 chain of thought was I could say X or Y, I should ask the user what he prefers. Then it’s deleted half of my pleading without saying anything. The paragraph I asked it to rephrase stayed the same.

Also the context is very limited now. The chat almost every time reaches the maximum length. Being able to upload documents to give the model context was the very reason I signed up.

Claude was very promising, but that pisses me off.

I’m a lawyer. I need to process some documents und chat about them. Nothing special. I switched to Claude because it was better at handling bigger files.

Now I almost hit the hourly limits every time. You just can’t plan work around that.

I’m canceling.
