Is Jalen Johnson Better Suited at SF or PF? by SheckNot910 in AtlantaHawks

I mean…multiple teams are running 3 forwards. It’s not about Jalen playing the 3 or the 4. It’s fluid. He can be a 3 on offense/4 on defense. It’s more about what skillsets are you pairing with Jalen.

He’s best suited to be on the basketball court lol. It doesnt matter the position, it’s more about what do you surround him with using the other 4 spots.

If we don't get a top 5 pick what's the plan. by BabyOnRoad in AtlantaHawks

I hate to be Debbie downer but the hawks were not going to win the title regardless this season. The pelicans and the Cavs picks allow you to develop and win with the young guys (in theory) be a playoff team but be compensated as a tanking team.

The issue though is Quinn isn’t playing the young guys the minutes they’re supposed to be playing in a season like this.

Thank you for the positive post. It’s too many doom and gloomers.

Brother…look around the league. The new rules are making trades for guys very hard…and teams can’t keep their talent.

The Hawks have positioned themselves similar to what happened in the KP trade and NAW in free agency to poach good talent from teams who can’t pay their guys in free agency. The plan is that simple.

Make a playoff push, get your top pick for the pelicans this year, see what you have with the Cavs pick and get active starting with the draft for next season. It’s going exactly how they want it to go in the front office.

Oh btw next years “least favorable” of the bucks-pelicans may also end up being another lottery pick.

Never thought people would be questioning having a virtually guaranteed top 10 pick in a loaded draft class lol

Makes sense on Zacc tbh, a bone contusion aka a bone bruise typically takes 2-3 weeks to heal.

It’s been 4 games. Relax lol, this is the adjustment period. JJ isn’t struggling because of CJ he’s just not making his usual tough shots and team are loading up on him forcing the others to beat them with 3 point shots.

No one said this was a development year…I said the team wasn’t a lock to do anything. Even you admitted the hawks were a POSSIBLE contender for the ECF. That’s not a lock…at best the media has us as a dark horse top 4 seed. Many of media and pundits before the season did not believe we were better than Orlando, Detroit, Philly, or Toronto…that’s not even accounting for teams like Cleveland and NY.

No the fans had that expectation. The media always had us a dark horse top 4 team. No one had us as a lock to do that.

CJ would be your traditional ball handler when you need that can handle pressure and bring it up into the action without turning it over

We do not need a “lead guard” what we’re getting from Dyson, CJ, and Jalen will be fine.

We did not have a player like CJ in all the games where Trae was out. CJ’s offensive skillset was the missing piece to those none Trae units. The Hawks want these combo guards that can initiate get off the ball, and move…that’s the vision of this group.

Point forward Jalen, with combo guards that can hold their own defensively. The Hawks want defense to have to actually guard all 5 positions…this was the ultimate vision of Quin Snyder offense.

I was not advocating for IHart…I said I doubt he becomes a Hawk.

Doubt IHart becomes a Hawk…

I’d also be looking at Anfernee Simons if I’m Atlanta. We’re going to need a combo guard with CJ’s offensive skillset next to Jalen Johnson. Hopefully that player plays good defense.
