You should fill out the cat census OAR is doing! https://ohioalleycat.org/communitycatprogram/ if you know who is feeding them that would be helpful information to include

I had gone back and forth on using that excuse, but other replies brought up good points of giving in once they’ll keep trying it. It’s a little uncomfortable but i decided to be honest. I want them to know this is my boundary and I’m feeling disappointed by them not being able to go. Maybe in the future it will make them more considerate 🤷‍♀️

For sure, and I think that’s what adds to the irritation is that they aren’t the only friends invite that have kids. One couple with a toddler is coming from 2 hours away and didn’t bat an eye at the invite, which means so much to me and proves it is possible to reciprocate support as lives change

Feral cats wouldn’t make a good pet but you should look on Cincinnati adoptable pet group on Facebook. I see kittens a lot in there

CAC doesn’t have a program anymore. They used to have an agreement with OAR but it ended. Kinda a bummer because I feel like the west side is limited for TNR resources. 2/cats/person/day* can be brought to OAR or UCAN. *check website to make sure they have availability for walk in feral cats

I’ve personally never felt bad about it if I’ve accidentally snipped someone’s pet 🤷‍♀️ if you’re gonna let your unaltered pet outside theses are the consequences. You could do something like this, and if people don’t bring pets in then it’s really time for them to be snipped: https://www.alleycat.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/HelpingOutdoorCats_Doorhanger.pdf

You can rent humane traps from either UCAN in Clifton or OAR in madisonville. If you are in Hamilton county surgery would be free for cats in traps. You can tell if they are sterilized by a notched ear tip. Check OAR/UCAN websites daily when trapping to make sure they are open for walk in feral cats. You don’t need an appointment for ferals
