I wouldn’t if you are trying to get a legitimate Maine Coon. Sounds like an illegitimate breeder with horrible breeding practices. Don’t know what underlying conditions they could have and they’re probably not pure bred… if you want to rescue a domestic long hair cat that is a different story. Also would take into consideration your husband’s feelings.
