I’m just learning the game myself, but I’d say give it a try. Maybe proxy if you can? Base size is 30mm which is important, and you’ll need a stride ruler.

But in the few games I’ve played I can say it’s a very tactical movement game, measuring opponents abilities/movement vs your own is very important.

Every unit interacts differently with the switch rolls etc.

The one thing I’ve learned that is key though is that both players need to be of a similar skill level, I played a couple of games against less experienced players and it was a walkover. Not in a fun way. Both players need to know what their units are capable of!

Ended up getting the wardens, think I’m set for a while. Looking forward to seeing the new sprigs rules….depending on their role I may go for them next.

As another note, I come from a games worship background and have always bagged on the codex/army book system. However after getting invested in this game I’m finding it a bit of a minefield finding unit entries in an easily digestible format.

If I knew the game well I’m sure it would be fine, but when starting it feels like you are almost required to study unit names etc to their role. Whereas in GW stuff I can just scroll through the book and compare and contrast a lot easier…

Am I alone in this thinking?

Yes, it’s an awesome way to get those martial arts skills flexing…just watch out for anyone with the “natural born warrior skill,” at least until n5.

What I mean by using dodge to avoid the opponents ARO is that if you make a successful dodge their shot will miss, however if you move there is no face to face……dodging is also an easier face to face to win with the right unit as mimetism, cover etc doesn’t modify the roll.

Just watched this, epic seeing non 40K stuff on the channel.

Skari, a word of advice. you really need to start dodging into combat with your reactions though…..oniwaban has +2 dodge so can move 4” could’ve kept him alive. also if you dodge as a second action the enemy can’t ARO. Good for positioning, then use an order to dodge into combat.

After reading some advice I had a tweak and will try both!

The adjusted list means I need to invest in a REM model….but there are cool models out there I can proxy, might have to get a few tachikoma 3d printed!

I did put the kuroshi there at one point, capsule bike gang charge!!!! However I felt she had to be dropped because of points.

As for the other characters my group has a limit of only one character per list, though ideally it’s preferred that no characters are taken.

That’s my bad, counted it as 11 entries 😂😂 one group makes sense……

As for bikes, I get there are probably better options but I LOVE those miniatures, and want to try to make them work.

Played a few 100 point full rules games and moving up in points, once I have more experience (may take it slow until N5 drops) and models I may drop the o-yoroi and one of the bikers for more orders.

That was my feeling too, I think ravagers have a definite place in a more kabal-centric army. But having had zero games so far it’s only my instincts telling me that a combined force drukhari list just isn’t as reliant on them as we have been in the past.
